Sorry for another ZCA issue but I did a search and found lots of info but unfortunately none of it has worked for me.
The issue seems to be that even though the C App shows all my latest info, when I start a ride (either in the laptop or iPhone), the C app will not bring up the ride.
I was recently injured in a race and can do indoor training but outdoor is restricted. I had unsubscribed for the summer so I had to get my subscription up to date and the issue began then. Previously, I’ve never had a problem.
What is the laptop?
If the iPhone you ran the game on is the same device that you’re running Companion on, that’s not supported. It has to run on a separate device. Does that apply to your situation?
It’s a dell lap top.
And yes that applies. I never use my phone to run Zwift but thought I’d give it a try to see if it would work.
OK since it’s not a Mac laptop (which has some specific issues with Companion pairing) the best I can offer is some standard advice. Both the laptop and the Companion device need to be on the same WiFi network, and in some cases they may also need to be on the same WiFi frequency (5GHz or 2.4GHz). To rule out the latter, I recommend giving separate network names for 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands. On the iPhone, you should disable the WiFi Assist feature since that may cause it to operate on the cellular network. You can also put the phone in airplane mode and then reenable WiFi manually to ensure that it never uses the cellular network. There are also some WiFi mesh networks that defeat the discovery process that lets Companion connect to the game. My TP-Link Deco network for example requires that I ensure that both devices are connected to the same mesh node, which very rarely requires that I turn off WiFi on the phone and then turn it back on again to get it to connect.
This was very helpful. I didn’t realize that when I got a new IPhone a few months ago that I had never entered the WiFi password so it was not connected even though I assumed it was when I saw the network name showing up.
Looks like it will work now. Thank you so much and sorry I missed the low hanging fruit.
