Climb Elevation Profile graph problems

I also posted this to the Zwift Subreddit but here might also be very appropriate

I put this under Bugs and Support, that seemed to be the most fitting category.

I am new to Zwift and I have a problem understanding the elevation profile (that pops up at a climb). In the tutorial ride that you do when you start, it explains at as I would expect it. It appears when you are at the foot of a climb. color correlates to steepness.

Today I did the Roule Ma Poule route with the 1.1w/kg robo pacer, just spinning the legs for a bit. On the climb at the end of the route, the profile graph was a total mismatch to the slope %. I have The Zwift Ride + kickr core bundle since 4 weeks. From those 4 weeks of experience I would say that the kickr was corresponding to the slope %.

But as you can see in picture 1 it is in the blue zone and 4.8%, picture 2 is a few meters ahead in the yellow zone at 1.7% and picture 4 a few meters further in the orange zone at 0.8%. Picture 4 is again what I would expect in the yellow zone.

Last picture is on the small climb on the route, where there is again a mismatch of the colour to the slope.

Can someone explain to me what the point of the elevation profile with its zones is, if the don’t match the actual steepness?

I did the same route today and had the same issue as the same spot.

It seemed the elevation graph is ahead of where I am. if the point where I am on the graph is the white stick below the elevation value.

Is it accurate on other routes and worlds?

The pictures are accurate (the numbers are correct). The colored section, such as red zone is a section that may average 8% (2% then 8, then 12 but an average 8% thus orange or red). This seems to occur a number of times on climb portals.

What I find annoying is that it goes blue(flat or down), yellow, orange, red, (over 10 or 12%) yellow (?!?!)

Couldn’t the steepest parts be a different color? Or make it blue, green, yellow, orange, then red!

It’s off for me on the Titans Grove rollers. Not sure if it’s always or sometimes. I found myself unable to care enough about it to mention it until now.

Think this might be route specific.

The build event today was aligned perfectly. As was the Jarvis hill after.

Agree it looked off on titans a while ago, like David, I’d forgotten about that!
