I decided to run Zwift on my iPhone so that I could watch something on my Mac. I mistakenly clicked on no to connect Bluetooth but found not only could I not get back to the option, I could also not log out or close the app. That is problem #1.
I went to the screen that allows you to click to look for devices and it got stuck there- searching. I turned off my phone, went back in and tried again. Same thing. Any advice?
a reinstall of the zwift game might work, it should bring up that permissions question again.
Hi @deborah_nixon
Thanks for bringing up your concern on the Zwift forums! This is Haziel from Zwift Support, and I’ve got some tips that might help you out.
If Zwift is frozen or acting weird on your iPhone, you can’t really close apps directly. Just go ahead and close Zwift. Check out this article: Force Closing Zwift.
About that Bluetooth loop you mentioned, the “No” you picked is saved in your iPhone’s security settings. Here’s how to fix it:
- Open your iPhone Settings (the gear icon).
- Scroll down to your apps and tap on Zwift.
- Check if the Bluetooth toggle is OFF, switch it ON.
- You can also make sure Local Network is also turned ON (this is important for your Mac/iPhone connection).
Once you’ve done that, restart Zwift, and it should start scanning for devices like normal again.

Ride On.
Have you tried just force quitting the Zwift app on your phone (not just swiping it into the background)?
Thanks-it’s really tough to force quit because the app fills the whole screen. I persisted and it worked although I can see that Zwfiting via iPhone isn’t very user friendly. I don’t think it can be a regular option. I appreciate your help.
Thank you- that helped a lot and I was able to set bluetooth and LAN. Forcing closing isn’t easy with Zwift but I finally was able to do it. Actually faster to close the phone- which isn’t ideal. Appreciate your help.
