Cannot Connect Kickr Rollr to Zwift

I just bought a Kickr Rollr and I have tried about everything to get my rider to move on Zwift, but he simply will not. Connecting the trainer over Bluetooth seems to work fine, but as soon as it connects, the error triangle appears over the ANT icon in the top right. Even as I pedal, it reads nothing. I have deleted and reinstalled apps on all my devices, but still I am getting the same result.

However when I did a calibration ride, it read my speed just fine.

Please help as I would love to not have to return this trainer.

When you see that error icon it means the ANT+ adapter isn’t working properly, so this is probably not a Zwift problem and not a trainer problem. If you have the Garmin Express app running that could do it.

Needs a power meter on the bike, it doesnt measure power.

From Wahoo website :

When connected to an external power meter (not included), KICKR ROLLR provides controlled resistance in level, ERG and simulated modes. Without a connected power meter, the smart bike roller delivers consistent resistance and broadcasts speed metrics.

Even when using it as a Speed Sensor, my rider does not move.

Yeah that doesn’t work with Zwift, you need a power meter, or return it an get a kickr core

Wahoo KICKR ROLLR Smart Trainer In-Depth Review | DC Rainmaker(If%20you%20don’t%20have,really%20do%20anything%20with%20it.

If you don’t have a power meter, the KICKR ROLLR won’t transmit any power, so apps like Zwift, TrainerRoad, and others can’t really do anything with it. They could potentially develop a power curve for it, but the simple act of moving your butt forward/back will shift the power accuracy at least 15-20% in Wahoo’s testing, they say. So yes, you need a power meter with this trainer. If you don’t have one or plan to get one, I’d strongly suggest another trainer and in the Wahoo lineup, I’d recommend the KICKR CORE at the same price point. Heck, yesterday it was actually even cheaper
