Cadence paired but no signal [ANT dongle]

I have the same issue Zwift says connected to cadence but no signal. This just started after the August 2024 1.71 updated. Have been a Zwifter for 5 years and have all the above mention cables and ant+ it all worked until now.

Hello @Kevin_Moran1 welcome to Zwift forums.

Shuji at Zwift HQ here. I looked at your server log history and I’m seeing an ANT+ dongle plugged in to your PC. Please remove the ANT dongle and see if everything works as expected over Bluetooth?

Same result Power source, resistance, Zwift Play, HR all connected. Cadence connected no signal.

Hi again @Kevin_Moran1

Thanks for the update. I looked again at your server logs and the Cadence signal has a different name (Wahoo CADENCE 1307) than the Power and Resistance signals (Wahoo KICKR B1C9). Want to confirm - is that a separate standalone Wahoo cadence sensor on your bike?

Scrolling further back in your server log history, a Bontrager DuoTrap S sensor was once being paired to game, but not recently. Did you switch bikes, replace the DuoTrap with a new Wahoo cadence sensor or something else?

Seeing how you’re running the Zwift main app on a Windows PC - it might be useful to purge the list of known devices that you’ve paired to the game. To do that - open Windows Explorer and go to the \Documents\Zwift folder and delete the knowndevices.xml file.

Next time you log in, go to the pairing screen and manually select the Bluetooth (not ANT) signals in this order:

  • Power first
  • Resistance. The ANT signal will appear instantly. The BLE signal will appear ~15 seconds after you’ve paired to the Power signal. This is normal behavior over BLE.
  • Cadence. If you’re using a standalone sensor - by all means pair to that instead of the KICKR"s inbuilt cadence signal.
  • Heart rate monitor.
These devices will be written to a new knowndevices.xml file once you log out.

Please try that. If you do have a new Wahoo standalone cadence sensor, please also check it’s charged up sufficiently and/or swap out the battery for shiggles and see if that might have been the culprit?

I attached the Wahoo cadence 1307 because the DuoTrap was not being picked up as mentioned before it sees the duotrap but not connected. BTW the way my Wahoo Elemnt sees the duotrap and connects. I’ll try your suggestion of the purge and let you know.
Thanks,
Kevin
PS I did swap the batteries prior to install on the 1307 and in the past did so with the duotrap.
