Direct Connect only works for power

Direct Connect shows up for power but does not show up for resistance or cadence as an option. Another thing, when I have both ant and Bluetooth enabled for resistance I will only see Ant. I disable Ant and then I can see Bluetooth. What’s going on?.

Hi @James_D

Shuji at Zwift HQ here. Looking through your server log history, I’m seeing you log in from a PC to ride, and that your devices are paired to it using ANT+.

Per Wahoo’s support site - Direct Connect relies on both WiFi and Bluetooth in order to work. The simplest solution is to unplug the ANT+ dongle from the USB slot so there’s no possibility that your trainer’s ANT signals bond to Zwift before the Bluetooth signals appear.

Would you try that and report back? After you do - you should see the Ethernet icon and the Bluetooth icon in the Pairing Screen. If you do not - please read through our Support Article

thank for your relpy. I have been able to get my Kickr to pair using direct connect, Bluetooth, or ANT, but Bluetooth doe not show up if ANT is enabled.

I can see direct connect for power source but not resistance.

Something sounds amiss here. Can you upload a few screenshots your in-game Pairing Screen so we can see what you’re seeing?

If I pick Bluetooth for power source then I am able to see Bluetooth for both Resistance and Cadence. If ANT or Direct connect is used then I can only see ANT for Resistance and Cadence.

I’m having the exact same issue. It works sometimes, others not. Did you find out anything?

@James_D and also @E_H6
Thanks for adding the screenshots, I see what you’re saying now. Have you tried rebooting your router?

Wahoo Direct Connect is usually super reliable. When it acts up - it’s almost always an issue with the local network.

Please reboot rour cable/fiber modem > router > any downstream networking gear > trainer > Zwifting computer in that order should reset all your networking gear.

I have setup an access point in the same room so I can connect to the network instead of connecting directly to the PC. I will be testing in the next couple of days. The access point is the eero system.
