How does Zwift update itself, when I have Background Updating unchecked / set to Off?
Hi @Emily_Anne_Smith
The short answer is it is one of the Zwift Launcher app’s jobs is to check if a new game version is available. The usual way of using the Launcher 1) t checks for a newer version 2) downloads and installs it if available then 3) initializes the game app.
Disabling this checkbox in your Windows Taskbar means this step can happen without launching the Zwift app itself. You can do that by selecting Check for Update Now
.
Does that answer your question, or did I miss what you were asking?
This is probably one of the smallest upgrades in Zwift that I’ve enjoyed the most—no more waiting for updates before a ride! Now, it’s always up to date.
