Hey everyone!
April Fools is here! This year Zwift has a bunch of events for April fools day(chase races, group rides, group runs). I have complete details of those events on my article linked below. I have also made some predictions on what the April fools surprise could be for this year. It looks like we have big heads for this year! More details are available on the article linked below. Taken into consideration that with didn’t get any Christmas stuff ( including the sweater ) this year ( 2021 ), especially in a year when everyone probably could use all the fun available, it will be interesting to see if Zwift even “dare” to come up with some kind of April Fools… :thinking:

I know there are a lot of people who dislike these surprises, so maybe creating events was Zwift’s solution to this problem, the people who want to participate can join the events and the people who don’t can go about their regular Zwifting,…

First group ride starting in 1:30! Let’s see what Zwift has in store for us this year…

Just checked out Watopia at 01:10 local time here (CEST) on 1 April. Nothing apparent so far.
Maybe the changeover happens later, like the guest world switch… or Zwift are having a shenanigan-free April Fool’s day.

I was thinking it might be an event only April fools day… it would explain all the events Zwift has scheduled

Some people are going to be sad about the break in tradition, but I like that Zwift have made participation an opt-in. :+1:

I know it’s an unpopular choice, but I liked the VCR graphics even more.

Can we have a voting option to not limit it to event only. So if you want to do a workout you are excluded from participating.

Also it is a bit sad that you have to enter a event called April fools, it is like telling someone you have a surprise party and they have to act surprised.

All of this to please a small minority.

Was the April fool that the April Fool Chase race was set up as a group ride and you couldnt see other cats?

Strange as event description says all cats visible, they werent and no scoreboard or placings at the end - Just ride summary as per a group ride.

I’m with you … but I think there was just too much vitriol aimed at that one for it to ever happen again.

The big wheel, however, loved that and would love to have it in my garage permanently.

People didn’t like that?? I wasn’t on Zwift yet at the time but I just saw a video of it and it looked rad.

Also +1 for the April Fool’s gag to not be event only. If you get upset over big heads and big wheels in a cycling video game for one day, you may need to lighten up :joy:.

Yeah, not being able to use these while free riding is a bummer, but get why Zwift did this.
