Another Badge Question

This is a very frustrating issue and one that is (seemingly) easy to fix. I’ve been hit twice by a similar “bug” and almost a third time:

  1. Rode “CeramicSpeed Group Road Ride with Pro Triathlete Michelle Vesterby” on 02May2020 and didn’t get credit for Dust in the Wind. I’ve since read that this route is/was bugged and that it can somehow start in front of the official start point of the route.

  2. Did a Group Meetup of Surrey Hills. Suspicious that the default distance in the Group Meetup is listed as 40.1km but Zwift Insider course says 44.1km, I manually set the distance to 46km (I think). Lo and behold even at 46km we didn’t get the badge. We noticed that there was a Zwift marker several km down the road on the map so kept going. Then got the badge seemingly randomly around 47km.

  3. After the experience with #2, decided that for Group Meetups to just set a super long time so the meetup wouldn’t end before the end of the route. So I set up Muir and the Mountain for this morning using a 3 hour time limit. Default is 35.1km, Zwift Insider says 33.9km. Rode until 37km and no badge (not the full 3 hours, about 1:35).

At this point, I’m not sure how we can rely on the Zwift courses to actually direct us through a route that will actually give us credit. For the Group Meetups in particular, you can’t do the U-turn trick as you cannot modify the route in any way. Very frustrating, and hours wasted!

I’ve been comparing my position on screen with the map given on Routes
To ensure I don’t get bitten. Although I doubt any of us signed up to zwift for the badge collection.

Hi @T_Wong

I must say I have completed 64 of the 67 routes got every badge first time. I still need to attempt the last 3.

Monica also got all of them

And there are multiple people that got most of them.

What I have seen on the Forum is that user error is a big stumble block.

Also not restarting the Zwift app before every ride.

Meetup’s is a known issue as it doesn’t always work.

Thanks – I realize that it must work in some version since people have completed all badges. It’s just frustrating that the Group Meetup seems to be an issue, at least for some of the routes. So we have to choose between riding together and completing the badge as we have a significant discrepancy in cycling prowess. Decisions!

At this point, I’m leaning toward not attempting any of the longer/more difficult courses in Meetup mode.

Have done triple loops London and Out and back again in Watopia this week, both badges have showed up on Zwift Companion as being earned but DO NOT show up in the badge list in achievements. I have tried reinstalling the app but the badges are still not there, this is really frustrating as I am working my way through all the route badges. Please fix this Zwift.

@Tony_Woodward Is it on https://my.zwift.com/ ?

Yes it is, under ‘multiple badges still not working’ I’ve had a few suggestions regarding multiple devices logged on. Going to keep things simple on a short course to see if that works.

Sorry if I’m being a dumbass, but where on my.zwift.com can you see your badges?

@Paul_Bonham
In the activity that you got the badge in you can see what achievements you got in it. I don’t think you can see the whole collection. You might have to click on the map or scroll around to see it. Edit: actually it just says achievement it doesn’t tell you want it is.

Cheers Ben, I thought you meant that there was a page where you could see what you have/haven’t done. I must admit that I’m not normally a badge-hunter, but with the increased Zwift usage recently it seems like a good motivator.

FWIW, I selected the Everything Bagel route today, confirmed the Zwift app had it selected, and started a ride. I could very quickly tell I wasn’t on the Bagel route b/c I had a sprint before the first big climb. It seemed to just put me on a loop of the outer road. Anyway, I rode for 43km and didn’t get credit for any route badge. So it does seem a bit buggy. Oh well.
