Yes of course you are right. Didnt know what I was thinking. But in my case my race was just over 20min in total so it shouldn’t have been lower.
Hi! Does anybody know in which order the data is worked on? I thought a race/ride is done and the data then is just sitting at the end of the pending queue. But I see some teammates with data in ZP from the 24th, I have still some to come from 22th?!? Is the data from specific races/rides somehow prioritized? Thanks!
Nobody knows… I am afraid Zwift doesn’t know, too ![]()
I love Zwift, but I think Zwift Power is the icing on the cake. The analysis of the results is essential for those who want to improve, even in the 60+ category, this data helps me a lot. Too bad, it makes you want to change, but I believe that the people at Zwift will fix it.
Unfortunately there’s nothing that can be done from our, the user, side when it comes to race rankings. Those that mainly miss the post-race power/wkg numbers per duration - and progress therein - may find some satisfaction in using 3rd party applications.
I personally use GoldenCheetah (recommended to me on these forums), which allows the import of your (historic) data files from for example Strava. You can also set it to auto-sync with Strava for future data files, by which you’ll have the entire power curve of your ride within seconds after finishing, plus comparisons to previous rides (I.e. the top10 15s, 1-min, 5-min, 20-min, 60-min power efforts for a given time period) and much more. The bonus is that it also pulls in your free-rides and meetups, during which you may attack a segment or two. I’m sure there are other applications that can do similar things.
Yeah, if it’s just your own data you’re interested in, there are plenty of options. I use TrainingPeaks, and I guess the paid tier of Strava has plenty of analysis paralysis available as well.
What it doesn’t help with is the data for the competition, I obviously just want to compare my numbers against others and feel good about my mad wheelsucking skillz as the inevitable result.
More seriously though, ZP is an essential part of the racing infrastructure on Zwift and needs to be maintained as such.
Just to build on my previous comment in this tread… @xflintx, @shooj, In order to help you highlight the importance of the issue to the leadership team, maybe we can put this a different way… I know the recent focus is all about Making Zwift Easy to use. This issue does not make Zwift easy to use for the community that engage in Zwift events/racing.
-
Long lag times in processing event data, waiting for accurate results/power numbers can leave an ‘empty’ feeling after finishing an event - Not easy!
-
The delay in processing data may result in those pushing for a Category upgrade to loose motivation or those unaware they have been upgraded still racing in a lower category - Not easy!
-
Many use the Leader boards for leagues/large scale events for GC rankings, with delays this is also potentially affected - Not easy!
Please take the comments in this thread from the community as a clear demonstration of the passion for the platform and the importance that ZwiftPower has in the complete ecosystem that makes Zwift events/racing so great!
FitFiles Pending: 83,135
Looks like there is no more fit file processing at all. ![]()
The queue just keeps growing.
Don’t worry, it’s gonna happen Zoon. Like next year Zoon…
This is extremely vexing. I’ve been looking forward to seeing how my fitness has progressed and the latent hysteresis in the ZP file processing is making me nutty…
Next year isn’t that far away so… The real question is if the queue (now at 85200) will hit 100k on Dec 31 (looks unlikely to me) or only next weekend.
Swift’s response time to this has been awful. Yes it’s Christmas, but this issue was raised well before the holiday period.
If they cared enough, they would understand how important this was to the core racing and group ride community.
This is going to have a major impact on Zwift Racing League. Again, another kick in the teeth for what was once the core customer of Zwift.
Very well written Jon. I 1000% agree with everything you say.
I’m hearing the tour de zwift events aren’t races this year. Shame.
I just want to voice how pissed off I am that Zwift hasn’t been able to, or been unwilling to fix this problem, which never even existed in the first place before they took over zwiftpower. Hundreds of thousands of people use that site to enjoy your game
Well, .fit files piling up in the queue certainly existed before the takeover, but at least the queue would pretty much always clear up overnight. Was nobody monitoring this if the backlog got to 20k without any intervention?
As for the “making Zwift easy to use” thing, I think it is firmly aimed at the <1000XP demographic, so no use invoking that here I’m afraid. (Might even just be code for dedicated hardware à la Peloton to not have to deal with the pairing and other setup woes.)
Ok, why does WTRL TTT Zone 9 has its data from the 24th but Zone 2 not???
I know it seems to be impossible but it’s not. Here’s an example. First 15 minutes at 300 watts, then 5 minutes at 200 watts, then another 15 minutes at 300 watts. Results: Best 20 minutes 275 watts (15 x 300 + 5 x 200) divided by 20 = 275. Overall is (300 x 30 + 5 x 200) divided by 35 (overall time) = 285 watts and change. Hope this helps. I had the same thought myself a while back then worked out some math. Made my head hurt, but I figured it out. ![]()
Someone needs to explain this whole thing to all of us. The forum part of ZwiftPower has almost 300k members. So what’s the history? Seems crazy that there are so many questions. Does anyone know of a decent writeup on what is happening?
Why did Zwift let the main tech person go and then do nothing to help the site? Does Zwift even care at all if it makes no money from this?
Can someone please ask an authority to explain it all?!? DC Rainmaker??
At this point I’ll take a leaked communication from Zwift!!
@Eric, @xflintx, @shooj, @Mike_mendoza
Would any of Zwift staff be able to give an update on the Zwiftpower situation? The .fit files backlog keeps increasing, so race results now take up to 5 or 6 days before it’s final (when 20m power is calculated), and race series can update standings, etc. This makes Zwiftpower, the most important website for racing on Zwift, useless.
I’ll repeat, I think sooner or later you’ll realize, you’ll have to re-code most (if not all) of Zwiftpower, so I hope Zwift HQ management will realize this and assign manpower and money to this (for Zwift racing) vital task ASAP!
If you need any help from the Zwift community to fix the Zwiftpower-problem or even some money to chip in, I’m pretty sure many Zwift-racing enthusiasts are willing to help, but the current situation is that Zwift HQ is in control, not fixing it, and neither is inviting other people to help fix it for them.
We are already paying for Zwift services - I am not sure there are many users willing to pay more for Zwiftpower.
