I totally understand this now. Only thing my race was total time of just above 20min so i still dont understand this for my race. Avg total and 20 min should be the same.
Yeah, I don’t think the queue was actually completely stuck at any point, it just didn’t clear on a daily basis like it used to but rather stayed at around 20k (and growing) for a while so it looked like it was stuck.
The highest I saw yesterday was something like 92200, almost there again already. Meanwhile, the “Metrics pending” number (I presume this is the analysis of live data) has also climbed to over 63k.
For the sake of cycling esport as a sport, I hope either Zwift gets its act together right away or the community finds a different platform that takes racing more seriously. Zwift racing as it is seems to be a collection of bugs on top of kludges held together with duct tape (plus beautiful broadcast graphics for a select few elite races) so…
In that case, the only explanation I would offer is the nature of Zwift racing itself. i.e. Out of the gates we almost always hammer like heck for the first kilometer to make the lead group and do then the finishing sprint plus whatever we had to do in the last kilometer or two to even get into the sprint. So, yeah, though it seems unlikely, still possible. Not saying this is what happened, or that in your case the numbers aren’t screwed up. Just saying possible. Best to you, mate, and happy racing.
95400 now, this is beyond ridiculous. These are pretty easy and straight forward calculations. Any suggestions for an alternate racing platform? Is RGT cycling worth a try?
It’s a much more realistic simulation, feels much more like riding outside with much greater changes in effort needed for inclines, and therefore the need to change gear much more frequently. Drafting is much closer to IRL experience as well. The biggest drawback is the much smaller pool of people racing, far fewer races available (but OK for people in the Euro timezones), but if you’re an A or B racer in Zwift its worth a look.
Do they work with results based ranking/categories? Another disappointing part of the racing experience for me is the bad categories based on Wkg. As lightweight (more long distance runner than cycler) I’m looking like a reasonable B, but nowhere near enough absolute power to be in the mix
imho, The problem @Ride_Cyclery has by not communicating a formal response to the issues surrounding zwiftpower, and specifically processing .fit files…is that we get to draw our own conclusions…right or wrong.
They’re choosing not to write the narrative. Very Unfortunate.
I downloaded and tested RGT. Simple setup. Free to try.
Their racing has more real life drafting (no sticky-draft), cornering etc.
eg. you can’t take a 90 degree corner at 60km/h…like in real life.
Obviously doesn’t have the number of users but that will change over time.
Zwift’s indifference to the needs of a large portion (racing) of their user base speaks volumes. Their change management is broken.
Eric wants to sell $3K bikes to compete with Peleton?
But seemingly chooses to not keep zwiftpower in working order to support tens of thousands of paying customers…who have come to rely on that info to fuel their training and improve their racing stats.
And another blow dealt to Zwift Racing community: just 30 minutes ago, ZHR Zwift club, one of the biggest race organizers, announced they will quit Zwift…
All ZHR events will be withdrawn. Reasons given are (among other things):
"the lack of adequate support in getting their errors corrected, the introduction of an event management functionality that fails to meet basic requirements and created fifty times more work than necessary, forcibly taking over the excellent ZwiftPower and utterly breaking and ruining it"
