Currently investigating how to integrate the Zwift bike into physical test like VO2Max.
Is it possible to perform VO2Max tests in the Zwift environement? Are there protocols and can the Zwift bike or Zwift software be used in combination with VO2max testing hardware like ex. the Fitmate device from Cosmed? We’ve been testing for years with the combination of the Ergobike from Daum and Cosmed device. But would gladly switch to another bike. Biggest advantage form the Cosmed VO2Max device is that the protocols are in the device and that it controls and registers the load on the bike. Has anyone looked into it?
2 options, use one of the in built ramp tests or just create you’re own.
I’ve been tested a few times for VO2 max, both on wattbikes, both have been ramp tests to failure with O2 measured with mask or am I missing something?

Damn, indeed. I’ve just come to realize that the bike doesn’t need to be controlled through the Cosmed breathing device, but via a custom made program in Zwift itself. So stupid of me. In my case the ramp tests were on the Cosmed breathing device and not on the bike. Thank you for your answer.

Both found in FTP tests
