I have an older Zwift Trainer and it has been great for me. I have recently noticed belt shavings on the ground after I ride - looks like the belt is going to go. I do plan on upgrading to the Zwift Ride pretty soon - but I need to keep training. Is there a replacement belt and can I put it on with medium technical knowledge (not the best at stuff like that but better than normal).
I don’t have a specific SKU or part number for you since I’m not familiar with that trainer but all belt drive trainers tend to use regular non-proprietary timing belts so sourcing one shouldn’t be difficult
with that said, I wouldn’t assume the belt is about to fail yet either. what you’re describing doesn’t necessarily mean there is a problem with the belt. if it tears or slips under load then it’s done for but until then i wouldn’t worry about residue or debris
If you take the belt to an auto parts supplier they may be able to ID it. If the trainer works you can buy the Ride frame without a trainer.
