Hello,
I run Zwift through my windows 10 PC. Soon after I start Zwift the screen freezes on both the PC and the companion app freezes and it seems to makes the PC unresponsive. I have to manually force the PC off by pressing the power button.
Oddly enough it seems to some 10 minutes into my own event this occurs.
AMD machine?
The fact that the PC completely locks up does not sound like the current Ryzen bug. Would be interesting to hear more about the PC specs, the CPU, GPU, RAM, what kind of storage.
Hello,
The basic spec is, i5-9600k, GTX 1660ti, 16g DDR4 3200 MHZ. Should be powerful enough for Zwift?
It’s got 2tb of storage and I’ve hardly used less than 10%.
Thanks.
Yeah that should be fine, maybe its over heating?
That’s a great Zwift PC. The problem sounds like something wrong with the PC itself. You could prove that with some kind of benchmarking app to stress test the PC, and check thermals as Mike mentioned. You might consider joining the ZPCMR group on Facebook, if you use it. That’s where the Zwift PC experts can be found. Check out the Files tab, read that stuff, and ask for suggestions about how to isolate the problem.
I would also upload a log file to zwiftalizer.com. You can use the search feature to compare your load times and frame rates to other users with similar hardware.
Thanks all. There’s a good PC repair guy near me so I’ll get them to take look. I’ll use the iPad in the meantime.
