My Zwift bike is barely two weeks old, maybe 8 hours of ride time. The controllers have gone bonkers haywire, the screen is littered with ghost button press notifications. I have read that there have been a number of similar issues a few months back. Is there any new info on this in the terms of long term solutions?
Sent an email to support and haven’t heard anything yet.
Zwift is sending me replacement bars. The customer service has been quite good once I came to the top of the pile. Kudos for that.
I don’t get the slightest bit upset about errors happening, everyone makes them. It’s how you handle them that defines you. So far Zwift has been good about that.
Any thoughts on membranes to put over the button pads to help keep moisture out?
I remember getting the Zwift play controllers and at that time they were designed not to allow sweat ingress i never had any issues.
i now have the zwift play bars which were also designed in the same way apparently, but I seen a few riders that have issues so they aren’t as good as Zwift say maybe?
Update, the replacement bars have vibrations at power ups and gear changes. The original bars did not. I am wondering if this indicates a defective set of bars in addition to or instead of a waterproofing problem.
Thanks for bringing this query to our attention! Jose here from Zwift.
I’m sorry for the issues you’re experiencing with the new handlebars. I peeked at your server logs and see that your Zwift Ride controllers are still on the firmware version 1.1.0 as when they left the factory. It’s important to update to the latest firmware using the Zwift Companion app (instructions here) and let us know if that helps.
I am using 2 small towels each sized 30x30 cm to cover the controllers from sweat while riding. I am on my second set of replacement handlebars and I dont want them to fail again.
Hi @Roderich, welcome back to the forums! This is Monica from the Zwift Support team. I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing ongoing issues with your second replacement of the Zwift Ride handlebar controller.
After reviewing your account, I noticed that your Zwift Ride handlebars are outdated. Please follow the steps outlined in this link to update your Zwift Ride handlebars. If the problem continues, try performing a hard reset by holding down the Z button for 30 seconds.
