Hello all,
I’ve just purchased a brand‑new Zwift Ride smart frame from a major physical retailer here in Queensland, Australia.
It’s great!
Because it was a significant investment, one of my key buying criteria was having the option to use it with other training platforms as well as Zwift. This was important to me as I’m about to retire and I’m unsure what my future finances will look like.
I chose the Zwift Ride because a colleague has been using it successfully with another platform.
So what’s my problem? ![]()
My Zwift Ride controllers pair with Zwift perfectly every time, but I’m consistently having more difficulty keeping them responding to clicks with a rival platform.
I’m posting here to understand whether anything has changed recently with the Ride hardware and/or software to determine if I should return as faulty.
I’ve noticed that my Ride firmware, as reported by Zwift, is version 1.3, not 1.2. I can’t find any mention of new firmware online. Can anyone confirm whether anything in this firmware might affect connection behaviour?
This is the version that came straight out of the box.
If I start Zwift, pair the Ride controllers, wait a short period, then close Zwift and launch the rival platform, everything works again — but only for about 24 hours before the controllers stop responding.
When the issue occurs, the other platform shows the controllers as connected with solid blue lights, but no button presses are received. I need to do the Zwift dance before it will start working again.
