Had a Zwift ride for past 4 weeks and I love it however past 4 rides I am getting a loud clunk with every pedal stroke as it goes over the top. It’s fine when I’m spinning but noise returns as soon as I put some power in. I think it’s a bottom bracket issue but there’s no play in the cranks.
Help!
Also check your pedal bearings.
I would make a video of the problem (with sound) and submit it to Zwift support via the chatbot (go through the chatbot and tell it that its suggestions don’t help, and it should let you contact support).
Tried different pedals, still the same. Will send video as suggested.
Thanks for your help
Hi @Sean_Hayes welcome to the Forums! I’m Oscar, working with the Zwift Support team.
Thanks for helping @rothers and @Steve_Hammatt, we appreciate it!
We appreciate the detailed information shared and we understand how important it is for you to report this situation to your Zwift Ride. I will be sharing information.
Sean, I’d like to let you know that we’ve contacted you directly via email, following up on your case since we’ll need you to send a video and be able to hear the noise this will help us to diagnose any issue and move forward.
Best.
Hey Sean,
Check out my post… should be below yours.
The 1st video link(the sound is towards the end). Are you having that same issue?
Regards
Hi Oscar,
Video attached of the bottom bracket ‘clunk’.
Thanks, Sean

Hi, @Oscar.R, i have the same problem. I have logged a support ticket but “Kev” has dismissed the query and referred me back to general support pages. The grinding noise in the bottom bracket is worse when applying more pressure on the down strock than the up stroke, which is most of the time. Hope you can help. I have a video ready to upload.
Ive got the same problemy, any advices?
thanks
Hi Pawel, I didn’t have any grinding, just a definite clunk on each downstroke.
I never found exactly what the problem was with mine however I did solve it by removing the rear axle and spacers, giving them a clean and remounting the frame and axle on the Kickr. Hasn’t happened since.
I was convinced it was a bottom bracket issue but obviously not.
I hope this helps.
Hi Pawel, i am currently in contact with Zwift Support who are helping me diagnose the issue. At this stage i have just sent in some video’s. I havent pulled it apart yet but may takes Seans advice if Support dont offer up a solution in next day or so.
Zwift Support viewed the video and then requested i get in touch with Wahoo (as I purchased through them as a package with trainer). Wahoo then viewed my report and video and strangely suggested it was an issue with their trainer (which it is clearly not). i am waiting for their next response. I have now noticed that the left cover plate and crank shaft is now wobbling and when i removed the small cap covering the hex bolt, the bolt was loose. Zwift didnt ever supply a hex tool that large so i havent been able to tighten it. I suspect both left and ride side bolts have loosened and causing bottom brakets to put more or less preasure on bearings. I’d like a new bike please.
For what it’s worth I had the same issue as seen in the video loud knock noise that seems to be inconsistent and actually somewhat went away with higher power output. It have the zwift bike by the way. I got off and rocked the bike back and forth and actually recreated the knock. I just tightened the rear axle a little and it resolved.
Thanks Aaron. I am convinced it was a bottom bracket issue. Wahoo were being slow to respond so i went back to Zwift who quickly got Wahoo to act on it and they have now replaced the frame for me.
This also worked for me thanks Sean
