Zwift Play controller problem

Looking for help please.
I have an issue with my left Zwift Play controller.

When it’s switched on I get a recurring pop up message (titled “Heads up!”) telling me my trainer doesn’t support virtual shifting.

When I turn off the left controller the message stops showing.

I’ve tried soft and hard resets for both controllers, the firmware for the controllers is up to date and I’ve recalibrated them but it still persists.

Does anybody have any thoughts on a solution to this please?

Is virtual shifting enabled in the settings? What trainer is it?

Thanks Rich. I can’t see the option to enable/disable it in the Preferences section of the settings (that’s where it is meant to be right?).

The lowest option on there is “HoloReplay Privacy”.

My turbo is a Saris H3 which I know is not compatible with virtual shifting.

Can you run a log file through zwiftalizer.com and check if you are getting pairing disconnect/reconnect logged? The only context in which I expect that message is when initiating pairing.

What are you running the game on?

Thanks Paul.
I’ll try that and get back.
Running it on a Samsung Laptop.
Also tried it through the iPhone and got a slightly differently worded message.

This was strange as my smart trainer was paired because I could see my wattage output

@Paul_Southworth - no the Zwiftalizer report shows 3 disconnects but that would have been me turning the controllers on/off during the ride to try and fix things. It’s bizarre, and infuriating! Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi @_Tommy_Vultures , welcome to the Zwift Forums! I’m sorry to hear you’re seeing this message unnecessarily. It should only be seen if you press the side buttons on the Play controllers when in a free ride on a trainer setup that doesn’t support virtual shifting.

If you’re not pressing the side buttons on either of your Play controllers before that message pops up, we may want to take a closer look at your controllers. Please feel free to contact us in Community Support for further assistance!
