I often ride with RoboPacers but tend to do a quick custom warm up- workout of 10min beforehand to get the legs ready. During the workout the brakes are disabled, which is fine. Then when I finish the warm up workout, I save and exit the workout and head to my chosen Robopacer to join the group. While I am riding with them, my brakes simply won’t work.
Has anyone else experienced this. I did a firmware update yesterday to be safe and today I still had the same problem.
I wonder if this was ever acknowledged as a bug, or intended behaviour.
I just did a short workout, then joined a RoboPacer immediately afterwards as part of the same activity. I noticed that my brakes weren’t working doing the free ride (Zwift Ride, but I presume the firmware is the same or very similar to the Play).
Whenever I pressed the brakes, I got the haptic buzz so they were being recognised.
I’d link it to this request too:
It makes sense to me that when not actually in erg mode, the brakes should work.
This continues to be a problem–at least for me. I will add that every so often the brakes do reengage after a workout, but most of the time they remain off.
It does make it annoying when I’m getting ahead of my robopacer after a workout.
Indeed, I had this a couple of days ago. I think it was when I did the “Ultimate Warm Up” on Oh Hill No, then continued the route to finish and my brakes didn’t work at the end.
I’m on a Zwift Ride though, so not necessarily a Play-specific thing.
I noticed today because I was having issues with my trainer that if I skip to the end of the last interval instead of finishing it, the braking comes back on. This is annoying since it screws with XP earned during the cooldown interval (but I don’t care much since I’m already level 100).
Of course, this is only a few times so far, so I can’t be sure that it’s consistent, and it’s not an ideal work around. On the otherhand, it might help Zwift figure out what is going wrong so they can fix it eventually.
