Zwift not connecting via Bluetooth to TRUE Performance 800, Landice L7 Treadmills [January 2023] [SOLVED]

Since purchasing (~April 2021) I have been able to connect my TRUE Performance 800 Treadmill to Zwift Run via Bluetooth. I have been able to connect all of my devices (e.g. Mac, iPad or iPhone). It usually takes a moment for Zwift to recognize the device, but it always finds it and connects. I’ve Run lots of miles on Zwift. Last few days, however, … Zwift does not see/recognize the Treadmill. All of my devices have the most current iOS operating system. I have tried rebooting my devices and the treadmill - but no Luck. I noticed on Zwift support page it mentions that the newest version of Zwift has some issues… and Zwift is working hard to resolve.

NOTE: When looking on my iPhone Settings>>Bluetooth, it shows my Treadmill in OTHER DEVICES - So I am inclined to think it’s a Zwift issue. However, I did reach out to TRUE Customer Support, as well.

ALSO NOTE: Zwift works fine with my Wahoo Kickr - So that adds to my trouble shooting confusion.

Any feedback/suggestions from this community would be greatly welcome and appreciated!!

Thanks!!

Have you tried going into the phone setting and ‘forgetting’ the treadmill? I don’t think it should be connected through your phone, but only through the Zwift app.

Another +1 for connectivity issues with BT.

I’ve raised this with Zwift.

Thanks for the feedback, and I would agree that could cause an issue. However, just to clarify, my treadmill is not connected to my iPhone. Rather, I was just noting that my iPhone can “see/recognize” the treadmill in “other devices”. So it would appear that the treadmill BlueTooth signal is sending…

Thanks again for the feedback!

Same with my Bowflex BXT216. On my PC it will connect to Zwift but Zwift doesn’t pick up the speed being broadcast. Also tried to bridge through the companion app and that didn’t work.

Interestingly enough if I load Zwift on my AppleTV the treadmill connects and broadcasts speed to Zwift. So it seems like something with the PC protocols got messed up in with the update or something.

Another +1. I’m on a Landice L7. Another Landice owner on Reddit reported the same. Seems like a bug. It worked last week (pre-update).

Yes, it’s always worked as expected. I would have to “wake up” the treadmill, but as soon as I pressed any key on the treadmill, it appeared in Zwift for me to connect. Now, not happening. I just made sure all of my Apple devices are up to date, as well. No help there. Thanks everyone for the feedback! Much appreciated!

Hmm…Hopefully this gets resolved. Thanks for your feedback!

Clarification. Only seems to be iOS. TVOS and pc both work.

@Rowdy @shooj is there any update on the issue with treadmill connectivity on PC (and apparently iOS as well) as it appears lots of different brands are being affected.

Thank you for the heads up, everyone.

I’m seeing some reports of True treadmills not appearing in the pairing screen on iOS and mac OS. I don’t believe this is the exact same issue as @D_Watson noted (Paired to treadmill, but no movement [October 2022]), however they may be related.
I’ll raise this up for investigation right away.

Hmmm… I don’t have a PC or TV OS to test. But when I open Zwift on my MacBook Pro, iOS cell phone iOS iPad my two Wahoo Kickrs are show up immediately. Apparently, their is something different about the TRUE treadmill bluetooth signal. Again, the TRUE treadmill is showing up when go to settings>>Bluetooth as OTHER DEVICES. I tried connecting it just to see if it then presents itself to Zwift but no luck.

I saw that too Oct 2022. Thank you for raising the awareness!!!

Issues appears to affect Woodway treadmills with GEM modules.

Same issue affects Life Fitness T5 treadmills. I’ve raised this with Zwift

Small news flash… Tonight after a indoor bike workout (using Wahoo Kickr) I jumped on the treadmill for a short run. I was hopeful and launched Zwift. Unfortunately, Zwift still did not pair to my TRUE treadmill. However, in addition to my two Kickr’s listed as devices to connect, I noticed my wife’s Wahoo Tickr HR monitor. Hmm… I thought. Zwift did not recognize the Garim HRM Dual HR monitor I was wearing at the time. However, I happen to have a Garmin HRM PRO (which has running cadence, etc.) so after my run was over, I strapped it on… and what do you know… it appeared in the list of Paired Devices. So… I was able to Run on Zwift with the Garmin HRM PRO. There was a little lag at first and I really didn’t run long enough to test or compare the Garmin results to the Zwift distance. Also, I have used the Garmin HRM PRO on the treadmill before, and I know you cannot calibrate Garmin data (I use a Garmin Fenix 7X). What the HRM PRO records is what you get. Anyway, thought I would share this info. Still hoping Zwift figures it out. Good luck in your training and fitness.

PS. I also spoke with TRUE Customer Support. They didn’t have much to add - especially since the Treadmill is pushing out a Bluetooth signal that I can see on my iPhone.

Just adding my experience. Life fitness t3 connect treadmill has connected every week for 4 years and earlier this week nothing. Very frustrating at 6am…had to run without after fiddling for 15min.
Since then I’ve reinstalled everything.
iPhone and treadmill connect easily on life fitness connect app but will not find treadmill.
Hope this is resolved soon….

Cheers everyone.

Thanks for sharing… I get the 6am frustration… same here! So, just to clarify, Zwift does not recognize your treadmill, correct?

Yes correct. ZWIFT app on iPhone does not pick up treadmill anymore.

Thanks

Thanks for clarifying! Let’s hope this get resolved soon! Thanks!
