Zwift Insider Tiny Races general discussion

Pen enforcement might not solve this. There is an issue with how ZRS gets processed when you do multiple races in succession, they all seem to use the same “start of day” score for the results movement. The cumulative totals don’t add up until the results get reprocessed 12 hours later.

it will solve the issues where you have people who knowingly sign up to a specific pen and have their score increased then knowing stay in that pen which is what @Bath_Salts did, and at the moment there’s nothing stopping him from doing that

Sure, but to be fair. If you’re only casually racing how much are you going to care about a post-race DQ?

The DQ is for the benefit of those who do care

I think of “casual racer” mostly as people who don’t have a ZwiftPower profile, so they never get a black mark of any kind. They see the result in Companion, it’s simply a win, and that’s all they know.

@Mark_Crane_TOG_G_65y I saw your new turbo setup was giving you lower power numbers, but it was a shock to see you signed up for pen E zone 2 tomorrow! :exploding_head:

Just so you know, Eric has been giving partial and total DQs recently, depending on how racer’s Racing Score changes through a quartet (link on previous post goes into details).

I’m not 100% certain, but I think Racing Scores are being checked before allowing us to join a race pen now from an earlier signup when we were within a weaker pen’s score range, it certainly seemed the case for me on Monday just gone (I couldn’t join Zmonthly pen E I signed up for weeks ago under v2 seed score, insisted I join pen D+ instead).
If this applies tomorrow to Tiny Races, if a pen E racer’s score goes above 260 during the quartet, I’m expecting they will have to join A/B/C/D for later races of the quartet.

Yup. I got my ZRS reset on Thursday to zero so I joined the E pen as a placeholder pursuant to where I ended up this morning’s Rapha 50km ride. With a fairly hard 5 minute effort I ended up with a ZRS of 200. That will for sure go up tomorrow so I’m going to join the D pen to avoid the inevitable DQ. Should be interesting…

A quick look at zone one pen E suggests at least one racer got forced into pen D half way through. :japanese_ogre:

That might of been you I just posted about on another thread with the 200 score.

Yes, that’s me. I’m at 299 after four races of getting my *ss comprehensively kicked. Literally the 2nd and 3rd races were the hardest Tinys I’ve ever done. And I finished in the bottom half of the field!

I got DQ’d in the second race this morning: https://zwiftpower.com/events.php?zid=4699642
I don’t think I did anything wrong but I’ve been told thinking isn’t one of my strengths. Can you or someone enlighten me so I don’t do it again?

Should be fixed now.

Thanks Eric. What was the “problem”? Is it something I said?

It’s a bug on ZwiftPower where unique activity IDs get changed after activities have already been saved. It’s goofy, and Zwift will probably never spend the time to fix it. So I just have to reprocess results occasionally to fix it.

Okay, it WAS something I said! 8^o>

Thanks for straightening it out. The results don’t matter as much as they used to but it’s still nice to see just how slow I am now in black and white.
