Zwift Hub and Zwift Ride not working together

Recently, I bought a Zwift Ride to fit on my Zwift Hub. In the first weeks that worked well but since yesterday the zwift apps prompts when trying to connect my Zwift Ride an alert: I have to update my Zwift Hub to use virtual gear shifting again. But when I open the Zwift Companion App there is no available update for Zwift Hub.

Can anyone help?

I had some similar issue with the Wahoo Kickr.

Try to download the “Wahoo App” and connect the trainer via this app, as all trainers are made by wahoo, this app should supports it.
Usually you get an update on the App itself.

Unfortunately, my zwift hub is not made by wahoo but a zwift branded jetblack trainer.
I have tried updating the trainer via the jetblack app but the result is the same.
No update available.

Make sure you’re connecting via Bluetooth and not ANT+, otherwise the virtual shifting won’t work. You’re saying that the virtual shifting used to work ok?

I connect via the App and hence this should be via Bluetooth. Virtual shifting worked fine before. Now if I try to connect the Zwift Ride controllers I get a window saying I have to update the Zwift Hub (not the Zwift Ride).

Can you attach a screenshot/photo of the message?

And when you go into Zwift Companion, in the Zwift Hardware section, it tells you that your Zwift Hub is up to date?

Shuji at Zwift HQ here. Please attach a screenshot of the prompt so we can see what you’re seeing.

I looked through your recent server log history and it appears that you’re running the main Zwift app on the same Pixel 8 Pro - is that correct? The Companion app is intended to be installed on a separate smartphone, and complement the function of the main app on a different smartphone / tablet / PC / Mac / Apple TV.

What happens if you uninstall the Companion app on that phone? Does the main app show this prompt to update the trainer?

Yesterday I couldn’t reproduce the situation as the app didn’t find the zwift ride controllers at all. After I uninstalled the companion app the connection works again. Thanks
