Just got my zwift ride and got it all set up. I can connect it to the zwift companion app but I’m having trouble connecting to the zwift app. Firmware is updated and I have followed all the instructions.
I thought maybe I need to update the firmware for the wahoo kicker core. I downloaded the wahoo app but it is not finding the kicker core to connect to.
Does the zwift ride take care of all of the firmware updates for the wahoo kicker?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You absolutely do need to use the Wahoo app to update your Kickr Core. Zwift can’t do this for you (only to update Zwift-branded devices).
It sounds like your trainer is already paired to another device. Make sure it is not paired to anything else before you trying connecting it to the Wahoo app.

I don’t think it’s paired with anything else, but I will check. It seems like if it was connected to something else you would not show up or connect in the zwift companion app.
I just wish zwift support would tell us if they’re available on the weekend.

Support has been backlogged for a while so it seems unlikely you will get instant help from them. It might be faster to ask Wahoo support for help checking the trainer firmware version.
If the Kickr Core can’t pair to the Wahoo app, you need to make extra sure that Zwift is not running somewhere, and that it’s not paired to Companion.
Why is the Kickr Core paired to Companion? If you kill the Wahoo app and try to pair it directly to the Zwift game app instead of Companion, what happens?
