Zwift freezes after ~50 minutes when running on Windows 10 Laptop with N4200 processor. This started happening 2 weeks ago. The laptop has 1.00GB of RAM and a HD Graphics 105 with a driver version 27.20.100.8935. Please advise
Hi @Paul_Goodwin_ZHR-G, welcome to the Forums! I’m Francisco from Zwift Support.
Thanks for sharing the details. From the logs, it looks like your laptop is running with 4 GB of RAM, but Zwift requires at least 8 GB to run reliably. On top of that, the CPU (Pentium N4200) is below our minimum spec of a Core i3, which can cause freezes or crashes during longer sessions.
You can check out this guide on Supported Devices to Run Zwift for the full requirements. Upgrading to a system that meets those specs should give you a much smoother experience.
Thanks for posting this.
Ride On.
OK first of all, Francisco is right, the laptop is super slow and does not have enough RAM, however you should know that there is an issue that is known to affect Intel HD510/HD520/HD540 that is usually fixed by installing a driver update, and it appears that the same driver applies to your HD505 graphics in the N4200, so it’s possible that you will get back to however it was working before if you install the new driver. It’s discussed in this topic:
Read the comments from other people who managed to install it, since the driver installation was not just a click and forget process.
If you have the budget to replace that machine, I highly recommend it. Reply here if you want suggestions for that and let me know which country you live in.
