Zwift down on Windows

I cannot start Zwift on Windows after last update. It closes after a few seconds. Reinstallation has not changed anything. Could you please help?

You might need to give more details regards to your hardware etc…

And what steps you’ve taken.

Have you had any Windows updates recently or updates to your graphics drivers? There’s a little emergine issue around updates to the graphics drivers which is causing crashes like you are talking about.

I started a workout just a couple of hours ago, it started fine. About 15 minute or so into the workout, my sensor connections all dropped. Going into the pairing screen, Zwift responsiveness took a nose dive. I managed to save and exit. I checked if an update was available for Zwift, and it reported that I’m running the latest version. I also checked if there are any updates for Windows, nothing. I am running the latest Nvidia drivers from Oct 22, 2024.

I restarted the PC and launch Zwift, same “broken” state in the pairing screen. Exit, uninstall and reinstall Zwift, start Zwift and waited for the update. When it was done, restarted the PC again. Then start Zwift. Same issues.

As far as hardware goes, I am using a pretty old computer with some mismatched GPU.
OS: Windows 10
CPU: intel 1st gen i7-950
RAM: 12 GB Ram
GPU: RTX3070

Define which version of Nvidia drivers you’re using and where you got them.

There are a few reported issues that the latest drivers downloaded from Nvidia are causing crashes and other problems.

Rolling back resolves this.

I have version 566.03 Geforce Game Ready drivers that was released on October 22, 2024.
I received this update via the Geforce Experience App.

Dear All, thank you for your messages. My issue is solved (at least for now). After multiple computer restarts and app reinstal it seams to be ok.

Same here. Zwift updated before my training 11/7/24 and now I can log in, see welcome screen followed baseline camp blurb and then nothing. Screen turns black.

If you haven’t resolved your issue already, are you using an ANT+ dongle? If so it sounds like this issue that sometimes happens.

Unplug the ANT+ dongle, wait and bit then plug it back in. You would think a reboot would accomplish the same thing, but it doesn’t.

If you would like help with that, you need to share details about your PC - CPU, GPU, RAM.

I’ve finally reached my limit with Zwift and cancelling my subscription.

As you wish but there are several Windows issues right now that are easily fixed. Solutions depend on what you’ve got. Could be a 5 minute task.

The app worked before the update and now doesn’t . The laptop is the same; nothing changed EXCEPT for ZWIFT.

That does not mean the PC is not the problem. It could be a Zwift bug, or it could be that a Zwift update triggered a bug in your video driver, or it could be a PC that doesn’t meet the minimum requirements and worked fine until it didn’t.

GIve me the list ‘Windows’ issues and I will take care if applicable.

If you have an AMD Ryzen system with integrated graphics, get the latest video driver from the AMD website. Also ensure that the system has > 8GB RAM because that GPU steals system memory. 12GB should be enough.

If you have a system with an Nvidia GPU, make sure you are not running the latest driver 566.03. Roll back to the previous one.

If you have a system using Intel integrated graphics, get the driver from the Intel website.

Any system with < 8GB RAM needs a memory upgrade.

I would also install any pending Windows updates and reboot it. If none of those things help, also try reinstalling Zwift using this process.

Again, what are the issues! I’ve done the whole reinstall issue and now unfortunately I cannot roll back to the previous version. If you provide the issues, I can try to resolve myself.

You need to provide us with information about your specific system specs

The typical issues related to the solutions I mentioned are freezing or crashing or graphical glitches, high memory usage, or low frame rates

But Zwift does not crash. It opens and then nothing. No message that the login failed or an error message from the app or the laptop. If I close and reopen the app, it has me still logged in and takes me the welcome screen again.

It’s as if the launcher is not working
