Zwift Companion v3.70 [May 2025]

All - thanks for your patience, Companion version 3.70.x is complete to iOS and Android.

Can we roll it back to something more stable? This one doesn’t work.

@shooj - 2 things:

First, I’m still on 3.69.1 , no update showing as available. Android, Pixel 7. In Canada if that matters. (edit - sorry, update just showed up now - I did 2 rides this morning already though, TTT & cool down)

Second, I’ve had issues the past month where companion app pairing will fail, and then I can’t get companion app to connect at all even after rebooting both phone and PC. I’d just use normal Bluetooth pairing, but with the extremely short range of the Play controllers it just doesn’t work with where I’ve got my PC set up. I haven’t gotten it to work since last Saturday now - was there change server-side that could affect?

I only have one WiFi network, and they were both connected through it.

Do you know which version will fix the issue where companion app cannot pair with Zwift hub? I’m trying to use my new Zwift ride but stuck to workouts as I can’t update firmware on hub for virtual shifting.

If you’re using an Android phone, I recommend borrowing an iPhone or iPad from a friend to make the firmware updates because it’s more reliable. However I haven’t heard of any widespread problems with Android devices - it’s just more hit or miss depending on what the device is.

Thanks, I am using iPhone and also tested with an iPad

I think you probably need to be in touch with support. If you’ve tried multiple Apple devices, this really should be working. Unfortunately as these trainers are falling out of warranty in many cases, if there’s a trainer fault that’s responsible for the problem I don’t know what can be done about it. I hope you have already ensured that Zwift is not running and paired to the trainer, nothing paired to the trainer, and you’ve unplugged it and plugged it back in. Those would be first steps to take.

Thanks Paul, yes to all of that. And I’m in contact with Zwift support. Just eager to see if this upcoming update will fix it.

Update:

I have an update regarding the firmware issue with the Zwift Companion App and the Zwift Hub. The firmware team was able to complete the build in time for code lock and this patch will be included in the ZC update on June 30th. Once the companion app has been updated you should have no issue locating your Zwift Hub and downloading the most recent firmware! Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to support you in the meantime. I will keep these conversations assigned to myself and will check back in after the release to make sure everything is going smoothly. Have a great weekend!

Shuji,
In spite of the commentor’s presentation I do agree with his points.
Zwift’s seeming desire to be more than a great indoor ride platform is putting me off. I am annoyed because every time I start a ride I have to get rid of the join a challenge pop up that obscures the entire screen.
The new companion app has half the screen consumed by some activity tracking information that is useless to me. (Zwift has no business with me other than Zwift)
Weekly ride end annoyance of how many weeks Zwift can count is extremely irritating.
I would love a button that allows me to opt out of all of your challenges, tracking, encouragement and congratulations. I do not need your motivation and I do not need your tracking.

Well if you select a challenge the screen will no longer show up. Might be worth doing that even if you don’t want to be doing a challenge just to get rid of the screen.
