I have trouble assembling the Zwift cog(V2) with the Tacx neo 3M. I removed the cassette, but I have trouble removing the free hub, could you please help me?
It should come off as they do wear out so eventually you may need to change it anyway. However the other option is to take the cog off the body is on now & place it on your trainer, the same way you would fit a new cassette.
You can get support from Garmin for the freehub removal process, but as Neil says if you have the tools to take the cassette off the existing freehub, there’s nothing stopping you from taking the Cog off the freehub that comes with it.
There are tools included with the 3M for removing the freehub. It’s different to their previous Neo trainers. It’s on Page 4 in the NEO 3M Owners Manual.
Thank you all for the support, however. Once I removed the casette and the end’-cap I cant remove the freehub. It’s locked. It’s not the tool on page 4. This one has also the same issue as me. But can’t find the sollution. It looks hallow to me.
If it was me I’d just take the cog off the body it’s on now and fit it like a cassette to your trainer. I did that with the old one, it’s not hard. Don’t crank down its lock rig though, it only needs 5 nm max.
By the way you don’t actually need the cog for virtual shifting, you could just use your cassette.
