Can't install Zwift Ride onto Zwift Hub

I have a Zwift Hub 264D with a Cog and Click v1. I just bought a Zwift Ride with the v2 Cog. I took off the v1 Cog, and am watching the main video on how to install the v2 Cog. At about 80 seconds into the video, after removing the cassette (or in my case the v1 Cog) there is this plastic-looking thing in the video that they’re calling a “freehub body”. I do not have that on my Zwift Hub. I just have a metal tube that sticks out, and I can’t figure out how to attach my v2 Cog. Online it says my Zwift Hub is compatible with the Ride. What do I do?

The plastic thing is not the freehub body. It’s a piece of packing material to hold the thing together before you install it. Remove it and throw it away. The freehub body is the thing that the old cog is mounted on. You need a Shimano lockring tool and a chain whip to remove the old cog from the freehub, then put the new one on there after discarding the plastic bit.

Thank you. I am not talking about the plastic piece that comes with the v2 Cog, I understand that should be thrown away. I’m watching the video for installing the v2 Cog onto the trainer (I am apparently not allowed to include a link) and there comes a part in the video where she says, “There are several thick splines and one thin spline around the barrel on your free hub body. Turn the free hub until the thin strip is on top.”

I do not have this thing. My Zwift Hub just has a metal tube sticking out of it once I took off my v1 Cog. It’s this silvery-looking thing that they are calling a “free hub” that is not on my Zwift Hub, and I don’t know what to do about this.

Do you mean it looks like this?

In which case you might be removing the freehub with the cog.

Try following this video.

This means you already removed the freehub body. It’s in the Cog that you removed.

Yes, thank you, that is exactly what it looks like. It’s clear that this V1 comes apart, but I need a lock ring tool to get it apart. I do not have a lock ring tool. I imagine I will have to get one from Zwift Support?

not sure if zwift sell them or meant to come with one. I don’t think it does.

They are quite cheap you should be able to pick one up at your local bike shop or online.

All right, thank you so much!

It’s a standard bike tool.

Or take the whole thing to a bike shop and they’ll sort it
