Zwift Click disconnects shortly after starting ride

Issue description.

Zwift Click disconnects a few minutes after ride starts and will not re-connect - battery level is over 90%.

Further, my Zwift Click works perfectly using Samsung tablet running ZC but fails to remain connected when using Samsung Phone A54 running ZC.

My configuration is :- (note ALL SOFTWARE AND FIRMWARE IS UP TO DATE AS AT 16th Dec 24)

My Wifi signal is strong (meshed system) and has been working successfully with Zwift for years (now level 78 user)

The main part of my system is [ Zwift on AppleTV latest 4k version, Kickr Core, Zwift Click (updated to latest firmware when I received it a few weeks ago).]

The Click works if I use my Samsung tablet to run Zwift Companion and pair all items via that to get to Zwift.

Tablet is "Galaxy Tab A (2018,10.5), software is

.One UI version 2.1

.Android 10 with security patch 1 June 2022

The Click does NOT work when using my Samsung A54 phone to run Zwift Companion.

Phone is Samsung A54 5G (model number SMA546E)

. One UI 6.1

. Android ver 14 with security patch 1 Nov 2024.

I have searched the web on this issue and noticed a significant number of people reporting the same issue dating back quite some time.

I want to use my phone for connection so that I can use the tablet for other software such as Xert, entertainment and so forth.

Steps I have taken to test/rectify the issue.

  1. I have ensured when testing with the A54 that the tablet is either OFF or BT disabled.

  2. I have reset my A54 network connections so that the BT cache and data were cleared.

  3. Tested multiple times over multiple days, for more than a week.

  4. Confirmed that the Zwift Click can operate directly connected to the AppleTV and be used with the Kickr Core in that manner. Works fine, however I need to have a heart rate monitor connection as well hence the need for connection via ZC.

If this is a known fault with no solution, please tell me so I stop trying to trouble shoot this thing. I may well stop using the Click and go back to my old configuration (and bike) and possibly ask for a refund on the click.
PS, how do I raise a support ticket - all there seems to be is a “virtual assistant” which didn’t even respond.

Hi @Gary_Hines_WMZ4 ,

Welcome back to Zwift, this is Jose a Zwift support.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing connectivity issues with your Zwift Click, I’m pleased to inform you that we recently released a new game version 1.80.0 and ZC version 3.64.2 today, so please take your time to update both the ZC app and Game. Let’s hope that updating your app will resolve this issue.

Thank you I will update to 1.80.0 when it is available on ATV. Please note I have been using ZC version “Android 3.64.2 (1942). December 12” since it was released and that did not fix my issue. I logged a Support request and it was confirmed that I have been experiencing a significant number of BT dropouts with the Samsung A54 phone. I very much doubt a Zwift update with rectify that issue. Thanks for responding anyway.
