Purchased a new Zwift bike & bars to use with my Wahoo Kickr (Version 4). Looks great, but have been unable to get the unit to pair. The Kickr pairs with no issues, however the bike controls won’t pair (using bluetooth). I’ve updated firmware in both the Kickr and Zwift bike, and when I click on Controls, I can see the unit listed but it won’t allow me to select it. I hear it click but nothing else happens. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Zwift app on both my Galaxy phone and my laptop but the issue hasn’t changed. Any ideas?
The Kickr V4 is not compatible with virtual shifting so it won’t pair
Thanks, I’ll check it out!
Hi @Harley_Greninger, this is Monica from Zwift.
I understand how crucial it is for you to figure out why your Zwift Ride and Wahoo Kickr Core aren’t pairing properly.
As @Paul_Southworth mentioned, I took a look at your account and noticed that you’re using a Wahoo Kickr Core V4. I also saw that you’ve reached out via email, and one of my colleagues has provided you with some helpful information, so be sure to check your inbox for that.
I have purchased the ap that @Paul_Southworth referred to and will give that a try-- thanks for getting back to me.
Monica,
I tried the QZ app but to no avail. After purchasing and installing, I attempted to run the app on my android phone and Zwift will indeed connect to the app, and this allows the Kickr trainer to work, however I still have no controls… I’m thinking that I should just return the frame and bars, since I don’t want to purchase another Kickr trainer… too bad, as I was really wanting to make it work…
What’s the simplest way to get these back to you?
Monica,
If I were to purchase the updated Kickr Core from you, how much would that cost?
Hi @Harley_Greninger, I completely understand how important it is for you to know the cost of the Wahoo Kickr Core if you bought it from us. I’m here to help! My name is Monica, and I am from Zwift.
To start, you can check the Zwift Ride frame to see which trainers are compatible. Additionally, we have a dedicated trainers page where you can find detailed compatibility information. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, just let me know!
Monica,
In the Zwift store, I see the Kickr Core Zwift One, however they all come with a Zwift Click. Since I have the Zwift handlebars, my estimation is that the Zwift Click wouldn’t be needed… am I correct in my assumption?
Hi @Harley_Greninger. Alejandro here from Zwift! You are correct, the Wahoo KICKR CORE Zwift One comes with a Zwift Click, however, if you already have the Zwift Ride Handlebars, there is no need to use the Zwift Click since you will control Virtual Shifting directly from the handlebars.
If there is anything else we can help you with, please do not hesitate to write us at support@zwift.com.
Alejandro,
Thanks much!
