Hi all. I recently updated my MacBook Pro to macOS Tahoe 26.1 and now when I launch Zwift it hangs up on starting the App. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Zwift App onto the computer, but still hangs on launching the program. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Here is the screen that the App locks up and goes no further.
Mike, I resolved the issue by following the instructions below. Step #2 was the real cause in my case. I hope this helps.
Zwift hangs on the âLogin successfulâ screen after you updated your MacBook Pro to macOS Tahoe 26.1, even after reinstalling and restarting.
Here are some steps you can try to fix this:
Quit Zwift completely. Then open Finder, press Command + Shift + G, enter ~/Library/Application Support/Zwift, and move the contents of this folder to the Trash. This resets Zwiftâs cache and preferences.
Check your Macâs permissions: Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab. Under âFiles and Folders,â make sure Zwift has access to Documents and other needed folders. Also check âFull Disk Accessâ and add Zwift if missing.
Iâm not sure if it was this, or the update that was published today, but itâs working now. Worth nothing: It was still hung up on that login screen for about 2min before working.
I currently have this problem. Freezing on the login successful screen. I have reinstalled the app and checked that all privacy settings are correct.
If I wait long enough, it seems to login. Just now I had to wait 19 mins to make it in. Something is not right with the latest version of Zwift with MacOS 26.1âŚ.
I spent almost 2 hours going through rebooting, reinstalling, router reset, tethered mobile etc after upgrading to Tahoe yesterday. Did as suggested here, restarted Zwift, seems to have worked. If this was the issue thanks!
After Bluetooth connection issues post Zwift Update a fe weeks ago and their recommendation to use BT rather than ANT+ itâs so frustrating.
Same issue here but on Sequoia 15.7.3. Really wondering why it is taking more than a month to get this fixed, whilst we need to install updates almost every week. Both options mentioned here didnât work for me unfortunately. App version 1.104.4 (157262). Any news about a fix?
While going through the app logs, I noticed that a big part of the delay was happening when the app tried to search for other devices on the local network - most likely tied to the companion app. The UDP scan seemed to take much longer than expected, sometimes even several minutes.
To troubleshoot, I tried turning off Zwiftâs access to the local network by navigating to:
System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network â Zwift (toggle off)
After doing this, the app stopped freezing at the login screen. That said, this change probably also blocks the companion app from being found. It might be a good idea to look into setting a more reasonable timeout for reading or connecting - a few seconds is okay, but delays lasting minutes definitely arenât ideal.
Donât think its the matter of Zwift app itself, but .. it is what it is.
So I just ran into this issue yesterday with Tahoe 26.2, I tried all the tricks that Iâve seen but ultimately was failing. Until I noticed in Finder that my iCloud Drive was trying to sync with all the folders that should have already been synced. Except, it wasnât syncing successfully and was just permanently held up. This is particularly impactful if your iCloud is syncing the Documents folder where Zwift stores a lot of informaiton.
There are two ways to try to fix this but only one worked for me. Some people say go into the Activity Monitor and force quit the âbirdâ process. This didnât work for me.
I went to my System Settings, Apple Account, and signed out of iCloud. It actually got hung up signing out so I restarted the computer, when I was back on then I was signed out, so I signed in again and viola! Just like new. Zwift running perfectly again.
