Will tablet affect casting quality

We have a Samsung S6 lite, which we use for running on Zwift. My wife uses it to cycle as well. The treadmill is on the other end of the house. But our bikes are right beside the router. The problem is Casting. Running, I kinda expect it to be crappy (choppy, delayed). Sometimes it will just stop casting. But it’s the same, when the tablet is about 4 feet from the router. The tablet also has issues, when there is lots going on. (Like a well attended ridel

The question is.. Is it a tablet thing, or is it the Internet?? We don’t mind upgrading the tablet, but if it won’t help. There isn’t much use. Any advice would be much appreciated?? Thanks in advance.

Also, if it’s a tablet thing. Are there any suggested models of tablet? (Samsung tab S10+ maybe) And yes, we would like another tablet for that application. (Portability)

It’s not the Internet because that traffic remains inside your home, but it can be WiFi performance. Screencasting performance depends on performance and reliability of everything involved in the connection: the tablet, the local network, and the thing you are screencasting to (smart TV, Chromecast, etc).

The S6 Lite is a pretty weak tablet so it wouldn’t be a surprise if it were the problem especially since being in the same room as the router should mean WiFi signal is strong. I don’t know much about the performance of various smart TVs but most of them can also be connected via Ethernet or used with an external screencasting device plugged into an HDMI port if the built-in screencasting performance sucks.

The ideal way to connect a tablet to an external display is with an HDMI adapter and a cable, but unfortunately the S6 Lite does not support HDMI adapters. The higher end S series models do.

Best tablets for Zwift are the latest iPads since they have excellent performance, better quality graphics in Zwift (if you get a new model with an M series CPU), and Zwift developers have shared that they have more iPad users and better development tools for iPad. Even the most expensive Android tablets get the same graphics as an S6 Lite, though they shouldn’t have problems running out of CPU or RAM.

I use a 9th gen iPad for Zwift on the bike, I don’t run, ever. Never had a problem with it & it’s out in the garage where the internet can be a little iffy. Also cast it to a 32in tv now, mainly so I can read the screen, and it works fine. We recently upgraded the internet & got a booster with it so that helps with the signal.

Price wise I’d try a booster first to see if that helps, then it depends on your budget.
