Virtual Shifting was working pretty well with my Suito, but wanted to upgrade and got the Justo.
The Gear 1 is way too hard, I cannot handle my usual 90 / 100 RPMs during the workouts warm-ups. Of course, changed the trainer difficulty and all the basic things, moved to Shimano shifting type… Same and speed 24 is way too hard.
To reach my usual 90 rpm, I need 160 watts at Gear 1 - this is crazy, it feels like Gear 12 / 13.
With my Suito I could easily have the speeds to climb and go high with high RPMs without pushing that much power to reach the 90 RPM. The virtual shifting was perfect. . So disappointed to have made a upgrade and at the end works worst than the Suito (it had other problems with noise).
I could aliso feel the difference from one shifting up & down which is no more the case.
I am in touch with Elite Customer care and also Zwift. Nothing works.
Be sure, I did all possible workarounds, firmware upgrades, fresh reinstallations… I am lost.
How many teeth are on the Cog you are using? Are you using the Elite-specific 18 tooth cog, or the normal 14 tooth model? How big is the chainring you’re using on the bike and do you have the option to go smaller?
I run a Justo with virtual shifting. Not using the Cog, but I put my bike in my 19-tooth cog on my cassette so basically the same. I don’t experience anything like you’re saying. On the contrary - on flats, I have to get to about gear 11-12 at a 90 cadence in order to feel increased resistance.
Thank you. I am using the Zwifr ride with COG so not the same set-up/.
Happy that it work for you, for me it’s a nightmare (over 1700 euros for a indoor set-up and cannot use it, even the refund for the Just is challenging).
Are you using the small chainring in the front? That should lover the minimum watts you need for 90rpm.
I have the Justo 2. And with around 85rpm in the small 34 tooth chainring in front and 18 teeth Zwift cog, i get around 85 - 90 watts as minimum. With the large chainring i get around 120-130 minimum at 85rpm.
I dont know if using a regular cassette in the back, and a larger cog would be beneficial.
With the Ride you do have the option to use a third party single speed conversion cassette with a cog of your choosing. You’ll want one designed for a 3/32" narrow type chain, not 1/8" single speed chain. Might also need to replace the chain if you increase the cog size significantly. I agree it’s odd that the trainer is listed as compatible/supported for use with the Ride if it behaves that way, but you should be able to make it better.
I managed it, but I would not say that it was easy and still need to fine tune the alignment. But Thank you, with a 24 speed COG…. I can eventually reach 90 rpm under 90 watts . Will also try a 26 speed.
Not as good as my experience with the Suito, I could feel each gear but I can live with it as the Justo is so far silent and need to get used to it.
Crazy that they are selling a 18 speed Zwift COG “Elite” for the Justo.
