Recently I purchased my Zwift Ride bike and while browsing some FB forums, ppl have had issues with sweat leaking into the controllers. To me this looks like a factory defect but then a question came to my mind: What is the Waterproof level of these controllers? IPx5? I went to the website of the Zwift Bike but I couldn’t find anywhere the Waterproof for the controllers!
So, this question would be for Zwift Staff: What is the Waterproof level for the handlebar controllers of my Zwift Bike?
Hi @Juan_Flores_Mezcal_R, welcome back! Thank you for reaching out to us on the forums to inquire whether the Zwift Ride is waterproof.
To address your question, I’d like to inform you that each Zwift Ride Smart Frame is rigorously tested before being sent to our warehouse for distribution. They’re all confirmed to be in new condition before leaving the factory.
However, we always recommend keeping a towel handy while using them. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us at **support@zwift.com.
I don’t have any doubts that the product is in new condition before leaving the factory, my question is : What is the waterproof rafe of the handlebar controllers? As you may know, IPX5 will be sweatproof whereas IPX3 won’t be good for sweat. Could you please tell me what is the waterproof rate of my controllers?
Thats NOT a good answer. Use towels, use gloves. These must be an issue for Zwift. Make the system good, so all users can really use the Zwift Ride as it ment to be. Make a box with all electronic, and only bottoms at the handlebar, easy made.
Hi everyone! Monica here from Zwift, and I wanted to take a moment to clarify something that @Steve_Hammatt highlighted earlier. Our Zwift Ride is crafted to be “sweat-resistant” rather than fully waterproof. I understand that this distinction can be a bit confusing, especially for those of us who push our limits during workouts.
It’s important to remember that sweat can actually be more corrosive than water, which is why we don’t assign a specific IP rating to the product. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help!
