I have a Zwift bike with Wahoo Kicker Core. I logged on and completed a workout in ERG mode. When I was done, Zwift returned to normal ‘free ride’ format; however, I had no digital gears. There was no indication on the screen that I had any gears and when I tried to shift up or down - the resistance did not change. It was as though I was riding a fixie ?! This is the second time this week that this has happened.
I would appreciate help, suggestions, patch to get back to full operational envionrment.
Jose here from Zwift. I know how important it is to have visibility of your gears.
If you have ERG mode turned on, Zwift automatically adjusts resistance to match your workout or intervals so you can focus on turning the pedals. If there’s a free ride block in your workout, you’ll be able to use virtual shifting to adjust your gears.
I’m sharing this article that provides more details on gear visibility. Feel free to check it out, and let us know what you find, we’ll be happy to assist further!
I assume the previous response was a miss since you are completely out of the workout when this happens, right?
Have you already used the Wahoo app to update the trainer firmware (if available) and used the Companion app to update the Ride firmware (if available)? New trainers often arrive with old firmware.
Paul - Thanks. You are correct. The issue I described occurs when I have finished an ERG workout and normally you are able to freeride (with virtual gears). I have also tried closing out that ride and starting up another ride (without completely exiting Zwift) - still no virtual gears post ERG workout. All Zwift software is up to date. I will check Wahoo.
Wondering if there is a difference if I connect via ANT+ or Bluetooth. Thoughts ?
