Updating issue on Zwift for Mac

Dear Zwift,

unfortunately I’m facing an issue with my Zwift for Mac App which seems to be constantly updating over and over again. As soon as the update is finished it jumps again to “preparing for update” and the update process starts again. As I’m not able to launch any ride I already tried to reinstall the app again, I checked different networks or switched off automatic update function but all in vain. What can I do?

Thanks
Eric

Have you tried completely uninstalling Zwift, restarting your Mac and re-downloading and reinstalling Zwift? All important data is saved on Zwift’s servers.

FYI, I am not a Mac expert so someone else might have a better idea.

Thanks, Paul. Yes, I tried. Same problem again…

I cannot say for sure this will work, but it is worth a try. The following steps should completely remove Zwift from your system. Before doing so, double check that your Mac is fully updated. Sometimes system updates cause odd problems. After updating, go ahead w/the following.

  1. Remove/Uninstall Zwift by going to the Applications folder and then deleting Zwift or dragging it to the trash.
  2. Open a terminal
  • cd ~/Library/Application\ Support/
  • delete the Zwift directory: rm -rf Zwift/
  • cd ~/Library/Preferences
  • delete the ZwiftApp.plist file: rm ZwiftApp.plist
  1. Empty the trash.
  2. Reboot.
  3. Reinstall.

Ho do I open a terminal? Zwift does not work well on my Mac. How do I remove it?

To open a terminal:

Hit “Option + Spacebar” which will bring up Spotlight. Type in the word “terminal”

Or you can mouse over to the top right corner of the screen and click on the magnifying glass which will bring up Spotlight. Again, type “terminal”
