We want to make you aware of upcoming changes for iOS 15 devices running the Zwift Companion app. This will impact iPhone 7 and older devices running the Companion app.
Starting with our April release of version 3.69, Zwift Companion will require iOS 16 or newer.
Companion v 3.68 will continue to function, but will be the last version compatible with iOS 15.
Affected Zwifters currently using these operating systems will see messaging within the Zwift Companion app if applicable.
See Apple’s Support site for list of devices that can be upgraded to iOS16 and iPadOS16. Please check if your device’s OS will ensure your device is capable of the best Zwift Companion experience.
Is that why I had to reset my Companion password, when Companion wouldn’t open yesterday April 11th on my iPhone 7S? The first time I can remember having to reset and re-enter it in many years.
Is there a time limit on how long a compatible version of Companion will run on my iPhone 7?
Companion 3.69 hasn’t been released yet so if you have 3.68.3 then you are on the latest release.
I’m unsure which phone you have since there is no 7S model but if it’s anything older than an 8 then it will be obsolete soon in terms of running Companion. They haven’t said when 3.68 will stop working, but even if it continues to work it will lack any newly added routes.
Thank you Paul. I am on an iPhone 7S, so I’d be interested in how long version 68 of Companion will work. I’ll have to check my Apple TV which is what I run Zwift itself on. But it is more recent than my iPhone.
The larger size means you have an iPhone 7 Plus, so 3.68 is the last one for you. Earlier in this thread I asked for any guidance about how long it would keep working but there was no reply.
