My first event. Tour of London. Enjoyed the riding but…
the invitation mail was showing:
STAGE 1: Dec 13th
ROUTE: Greater London Flat
A Group: 4 Laps / 46.4 km / 28.8 mi + 180 m / 596 ft of climbing
B Group: 2 Laps / 23.2 km / 14.4 mi + 90 m / 298 ft of climbing
C Group: 3 Laps / 34.8 km / 21.6 mi + 135 m / 447 ft of climbing4 laps ’ laps
So, I choose the A group and completed the race with a distance of 53,8km.
Can you please give correct distance information for the events … or is there a funny reason?
What will be the correct distance for Stage 2
STAGE 2: Dec 15th
ROUTE: Triple Loops
A Group: 1 Lap / 40.8 km / 25.4 mi + 544 m / 1725 ft of climbing
If you look at the event details page, it shows the distance slightly differently:
ROUTE: Greater London Flat
LAP DISTANCE: 11.5 km / 7.2 mi
ELEVATION GAIN: 38 m / 126 ft
LAPS: 4
LEAD-IN DISTANCE: 5.7 km / 3.5 mi TOTAL DISTANCE WITH LEAD-IN: 52.1 km / 32.3 mi
If a lap is 11.5 and you do 4 of them, then that should be 46km, and an additional 5.7km would make it 51.7km, so I guess there’s some rounding up or down involved.
I don’t know why you completed 53.8km unless you’ve included distance cooling down afterwards maybe.
Stage 2 lists no lead-in, so it should be 40.8km I believe.
