Hi @manda_F
Thank you for organizing this.
But I regret that all the avatars are dressed exactly the same. In a big pack, it’s really hard to distinguish your avatar from the others. Wouldn’t it be possible, for those who want to, to keep a specific outfit?
Use fire socks, an do constant power surges to find out where you are.
Excellent !
I signed up for the 8am US EST TdZ event today but did not join (game not running). At 8:39am I got an email saying I had completed stage 3, unlocked the hat, etc. Joined the event at 9am and unlocked the hat. Somehow the email alert incorrectly inferred that I had already completed it.
I have got credit for completing stage 1, but I didn’t do it. Now done stage 2 and 3. Not complaining but can’t be correct!!!
@Ben_Salmon - Same thing happened to me. I submitted a support ticket with Zwift and they stated they are still looking into it (over a week later). If I find a solution, i’ll let you know, but you may want to send in a support ticket yourself just so they see it is not just a one-off issue.
Tonight 18 January 6pm and 7pm GMT the Tour de Zwift events don’t appear in Companion. Did someone miss adding them?
@manda_F ?
Edit - seems like they’re not showing in the Events section of Companion, but can be signed up to in the TdZ section of Companion. Weird.
Hi Steve, by any chance do you have an iPhone with a Companion app which could do with being updated? I’ve had a similar issue, as did Ro above. I updated my app and that seemed to fix it, while Ro uninstalled and reinstalled it.
Here are a couple of links to discussion about it:
Nope. I’m on Android, with the latest Companion. The 6pm event has appeared now, but the 7pm one still doesn’t show in the Events list.
And now I can see the 7pm one too (in the Events list). I wonder if it’s a coincidence that I have people I follow signed in to both events now.
There is a filter for that…
I don’t have anything changed from the default. I can see tons of events and not only those with people I follow.
Stage 4 TdZ rides in France are an excellent showcase for the complete absurdity of the elevation profile under the Mini-Map showing VenTop nearly the entire ride. The only time I didn’t see it was on the descent from Petit KOM. At the next intersection, it reset to show VenTop again.
I was just on the B group TDZ ride and got actually sent on the Ventoux route, away from all the other participants. I gave up after realizing there was no way to turn back. I’ll try the 8:00pm ride and see if it happens again.
In the future, just quit and rejoin the event. Late join is enabled, it would have plunked you back in a group on the road.
Using late join is the most common reason for going off route in an event
Sure, but if you’ve already gone off-route for whatever the reason, you could late-join again and hope for the best. Often my own schedule would make that a better option than waiting for another event.
Anyone else noticing that when you complete a stage, the “Auto screenshot” happens too quickly and misses that end of event stats? I’ve had it happen on every ride/run and have to make sure to manually capture the screen because of it. Not a huge deal, but seems like inserting an extra 1 second delay would resolve it and give an image that the user would want.
Also, noticed a backwards rider in the pens yesterday. Not a big deal, just odd and wanted to point it out:
Still no solution from Zwift regarding getting credit for stage 1 when I didn’t ever do stage 1. I know there was at least one other person who commented on the same thing here. Hopefully Zwift will get it figured out.
Sorry for the confusion–are you looking for a solution for yourself personally, or just a bug fix so it doesn’t happen to others? If you’re worried about getting illicit credit yourself, you could just do Stage 1 again during the makeup week and be happy, right?
