Sorry, but you’ve misunderstood. Because if you cancel your payments, you could still run. You’re only paying for the cycling.
I read this in the ZI article ‘The latest changes to Zwift Racing Score have seen ‘score decay’ introduced for racers who haven’t competed in the last 30 days’
When did this happen ? Wasnt that turned off a year ago ?
Lower weight and height means faster speeds which means less time in the segment which means the ability to push higher average watts. Edge case but people who really really care about segments are going to game it same as ever.
That is true, unless you are using the Wahoo Kickr Run, which has integrated Zwift incline control, to use that function you must have an active Zwift Subscription, even if you never ride.
thanks Steve I get that (been using Zwift for 8 years and I will always maintain I use the platform for both) but now you cannot use the auto incline without paid subscription now (run wise).
I don’t think it’s on yet. Tim on discord chat will have more details.
Its September and Zwift HQ want to revisit all the issues with returning riders being under ranked like CE used to do, so they thought ZRS might have negated some of those issues, so here we are.. Returning riders will be at floor so they can race down on their return..
Its like nothing ever gets learned.
Though, the marketing team are happy as there is a chance those riders might stay on the platform and not churn as they get an easier experience when returning.. When zwift HQ mentions fair racing, its best to ignore that tripe.
Yet it appears that ZRS can still be under 100% of seed score, that measures your 5mins power ability.
Allowing ZRS decay due to lack of Zwift riding/racing is ridiculous.
As is allowing racers to win a few races, then sandbag a race or two, to ensure their score doesn’t go over the threshold for the next pen up.
Floor just needs removed, seed should be your floor now.
That and show racing some love to make it more engaging, where is the elimination races, matchmaking, velodrome, in game points, team racing. group views, hudless racing etc.
And their last roadbook specific mentioned ‘looking back further than 90 days implemented in January 2025 …
Rather have them fix this and ZRS history overvierw than the bot hunting and decay.
Personalized recommendations has the potential to be very good, but it really depends on the algorithm they use. It could also be like the ‘for you’ list which often shows items I’m not at all interested in based on their algorithms.
Auto-adjusted goals seems good, I wonder if they have the ability to integrate the concept of a lighter week every 3 or 4 weeks as part of a progression plan or if the goals always go up.
Power segments are interesting, another type of goal to chase. I don’t personally use sprint segments much so I won’t use this feature on any regular basis, but I can see people who ride around chasing sprint jerseys liking this as another type of carrot to chase. I kinda feel I’d be more inclined to use these as part of an event where everyone is trying to maximize their power through those segments - so if there were a way to easily integrate power segments/sprints into new event types that have points rankings generated for the top riders through these segments I might be more interested.
On the new york expansion… Always nice to see new roads, but I wonder why NY was chosen. For sure it will be good to have some flatter sections on NY as I expect that will make it a bit more popular. I was kinda hoping they would merge some of the smaller worlds - for instance merging paris/france into one world with some connecting routes (adding montmartre maybe) as an example. Anyhow, will wait and see what kinds of new routes open up as part of this, it is nice to see new routes.
Will this be something that can be disabled, since for any runner will end up getting bad recommendations for their riding? Until the Fitness feature incorporates running, anything related to it will be GIGO
Thanks, and to @Bryan_McKenney_Dirt too - I learned something new.
racing seems to the red-headed stepchild of zwift so I cant see them giving it too much attention
Isn’t it just for us club ladder teams?
And still no W/BAL option for HUD display,..ugh!
At least you can use them, I get serious cyclist’s palsy which even paralyses my thumb
Excited for rowing
Here are some thoughts during my ride:
-
19 miles of roads, that’s basically doubling NYC.
-
What if eventually we got the right roads to ride/run the New York Marathon on Zwift
-
Their probably not PERMANENTLY done with Watopia (we did have a almost 3 year break between Dec 2020 and Oct 2023, and we have a velodrome probably coming eventually and Watopia seems to be the world that’ll have it)
-
Where’s Fuji? (In a polite way, just curious where it is)
-
Perfect timing on Zwift’s part to adds NYC extension for their fall roads, after all, it is the big apple and is covered in fall leaves!
-
It seems NYC will become the first IRL location “Hub World” (meaning a big popular map that gets expanded to eventually be really big (or bigger than) like Watopia)
-
New New York Roads! Wait, is it better to say “New New York Roads”, “New Roads in New York”,“More New York Roads”, or “Some New York Roads” (last one seems like it’d signal new roads in Yorkshire).
Anyhow, excited to see what the future brings, love riding with you guys, keep it up, and Ride On
I just noticed this morning that the start pens are still floating out in the water near the giant tree that the underwater tunnels go through
