This Season on Zwift [September 2025]

Also, if Zwift Unlocked includes all the maps, wouldn’t that basically be Tour de Zwift? Maybe each year you’ll focus on a specific map (like ToW but possibly on other worlds like NYC this year) and we get a expansion in that map?

I disagree - there are absolutely people for whom their seed is too high based on race results. My ZRS should be above my seed, as my 5min power isn’t really a strength compared to my sprinting, but some people will never compete to even finish with the front if their 5min power is similar to everyone around them.

Two things to add though - first is that a new zrCS best should move your ZRS to the seed, not just to your new floor, and second, if decay is brought back (not sure that it should be) it should decay to your seed score, not down to floor, and back up to seed score if someone is below.

You might be right but it’s really hard to tell with the current ZRS as a lot of people are not where they should be if we had a working system where movement was based on results and not this half up/half down i reckon seed would be ok and remove the ability to drop below.

The floor was introduced as the first seed formula was so bad at over inflating riders they needed to go down

I’d like to see some improvement on the outdoor rides that get imported to Zwift. I don’t have a power meter on my road bike, so any outdoor rides regardless of length come through as all gray zone 1 rides and don’t really do anything for the actual training metrics in Zwift. Can’t they use HR data to at least give me some credit for my exertion?

Also, my ride today was in NYC and I thought “I wonder where the roads will go off from?” Excited to see!

All sounds great! I’m psyched for whatever the future holds. I LOVE the zwift ride and I love riding on Zwift.

Eventually expanding to Long Island for NY would be cool as well

I view this change as more a response to demand. I captain a Thursday TTT team and I’ve lost riders because they have flat-bar bikes on their trainers and therefore can’t steer. Don’t sneer; you use what you can. I had asked Zwift a couple of times if they could make a flat-bar compatible version available but I truly doubt I had anything to do with this. I hope to regain some old friends with the new Click(s).

As to the function set, I use the key pads every time I get on Zwift. At first it was because I was on AppleTV at the time, which gave me only the most limited access to in-game functions. It was so bad that I put in a hardware suggestion to use standard wireless gamer keypads. Zwift was polite and promptly shut down its first hardware shop.

I’ve moved to an Apple Silicon iMac, but I still use the keypads and Companion rather than the keyboard because I bob around too much to find the keyboard useable. Might just be a personal problem, but there you are.

In fact, the wireless mouse for my iMac ran out of charge once and I was able to use the keypads to close and save the ride I was leading and exit ZwiftAppleSilicon. Without them I would have had to use macOS keyboard shortcuts, which would have forced me to quit Zwift without a save.

While this looks interesting, it assumes that we will be able to connect to other platforms, like Garmin, and be able to sync outdoor rides/runs too. The recent problem was that Zwift was importing all rides, including indoor cycling dual-recorded on Garmin. Was this bug already resolved? Last time, I connected Garmin to Zwift, it spammed my whole Zwift feed with duplicate activities. Anyone knows?

Answer as of today is no, it has not been resolved; it still pulls indoor rides.

On this subject though what I would like to know is when I go to delete those rides and it reset; how quickly are those “freshness” calculations done?
Is it going to tell me to do Z1 every day like Garmin does because of this issue?

draft-seeking made steering irrelevant anyway

Some nice additions, but……

Really disappointed that there’s no mention of any development on the Club functionality.

How hard can it be to just give Clubs access to the full workout library, to name one.

And on the anti cheating side, why still no connection to (garmin) scales so weight is updated automatically.

Cheaters aren’t going to sync a wifi scale to Zwift to automatically update their weights

That won’t do anything. Because folks will either find ways to get around that - or they will use other methods to increase their power higher than it actually is (or just create a bot).

Other methods are needed, EG, detecting and preventing sudden large weight changes, blocking unrealistic performances from leaderboards and hiding those riders from others in the world.

Needs to have The Cowbell Cafe and Four Winds Bar if they do that.

True, but others do and than you’ve got another way of identifying a possible cheat.

Cheaters will always find a way, I know.

Anyway would make it easyer for the people who do care about the right numbers.

so the play controllers are being retired after just over 2 years of being released?

How about a route with Pizza in its name? (Referencing New York Pizza and Zwift Pizza Slices!):joy:

Not sure why you would even need to “Race” to have the score stay the same or even go up. If you push hard and generate the same Watts in a free ride or even more than you have been doing in a race then why should it matter ? I have had some great rides lately and even smashed one of my PB’s for a sprint that resulted in my 30sec calculated power going up. Zwift should be smart enough to be able to analyse your performance using Watts, heartrate and duration. What Zwift needs to do is clean up the level of cheating before I can be bothered to race.
