Hello, I’m having this problem: sometimes while driving, most often during free play, the game freezes, the image just freezes and that’s it. Then there’s a wait, and I quit it because the game won’t return to its original state. The funny thing is, this happened after I bought a new laptop. I didn’t have this problem on my old one.
Here are the specs.
AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS
32 DDR5 RAM.
Integrated 780M video memory.
Based on the specs, this laptop is suitable for playing Zwift.. So I don’t know what’s causing this.
The drivers are up-to-date, the Zwfit update is the latest, and Windows 11 is also the latest build.
It happens randomly, maybe after 5 minutes, maybe after 2 hours. Luckily, it hasn’t happened in racing games. But it doesn’t happen that often, maybe once a week, maybe twice per race.
I’ll try an external Bluetooth device now; the AI said it might help, but I doubt it. I haven’t noticed any Bluetooth drops.
I tried forcing the game to find itself using the AMD utility, and it did, but different settings still don’t help. What do you recommend?
I hope someone can help me.
Fire that AI, because that is not a Bluetooth problem.
The first thing you should do is go into Zwift settings and turn off the Video Screenshots feature. Test it like that and see if there is a difference.
Other things to try include running the game in windowed mode instead of full screen. If that helps then you could use the Borderless Gaming app to make windowed mode look like full screen.
You could also fetch the latest AMD graphics driver directly from the AMD website: https://www.amd.com/en/support/download/drivers.html
The AI also told me to turn off the video, I did it, nothing helped. The drivers are installed the latest, I’ll try it again
Tell support everything you’ve tried and ask them to explain why it locked up
I did everything as I wrote the support, even more. Overall the game worked fine for more than a week, I thought the problem was gone, but today after an hour of driving the problem returned. The game was already linked via AMD adrenaline and an error occurred during the freeze. The driver wait request or something like that is high, I sent an AMD response, there is a log file from AMD, I don’t know how to defeat it. This doesn’t really bother me, but during interval or go training Or during racing it will be very unpleasant if it happens. All drivers are new, all installed latest version, etc.
