I am new to Zwift. I have a “Technogym Cycle” (not Ride), iPad and iPhone running iOS 18.1, Zwift on the iPad and Companion app on the iPhone. Everything connects properly, and the app reports cadence and power output properly. However, I am not feeling the resistance changing on the cycle automatically with hill climbs etc. ERG and SIM mode both appear on the Companion app but adjustments do not seem to make a difference.
Can someone tell me, is Zwift supposed to be able to adjust the resistance on the Technogym Cycle or should I expect to adjust it manually with the controls on the bike?
If it is supposed to adjust the resistance automatically, can anyone suggest setting that I should check?
Well this bike is not supported by Zwift, so it’s not surprising if it’s not perfectly compatible, but @Roberto_Viola is the expert on getting weird spin bikes to work with Zwift so I recommend trying his app (qzfitness.com) which can fix problems like that. It’s not a free app but there is no subscription and he will provide a lot of support. Maybe he will reply here and let you know if he has worked with that bike.
Hi Roberto, thanks! I’m not entirely sure what a PM is (personal message?), nor indeed how I would send one - I’m a child of the 60’s Perhaps this would qualify? Anyway, I’ve looked at your app - seems likely it would do the job. But could you confirm? I have a Technogym “Cycle” (see pic - not their more expensive “Ride”). All seems to work with Zwift through the Companion app, except auto resistance change. Would your app fix that? I am reasonably technical having spent much of life in tech, “PM” excepting! - so happy to do some experimenting or picked you with further data if you need it. Regards, Dan
