That can happen when starting late, the best to avoid is to be on the road 10min before the start and go to the pen 5min before the start.
How long were you “stuck”? Sometimes, it is not as quick as you would expect. I have waited up to a couple of minutes before being teleported and turbo boosted into the main pack of riders.
I did the whole workout anyway, and it never “found” any riders.
