Get in a group of 4 - can’t get on a wheel because presumably the other 3 have steering. Normally I’d share turns but it’s impossible if you’ve effectively been riding on the front the whole time.
In the end had to sit up - event spoilt. Ok i could get steering - or zwift could fix it so I autosteer to follow the wheel in front. As it is it’s getting unusable - sadly I’ve got 5 months subscription left but if it remains like this I’m off.
For those that want steering great but as it is it doesn’t work if you don’t.
It’s been discussed quite a bit on other threads. I think it’s really bad the way it works now - bad for racing, bad for TTT, bad for group ride sweepers. However as far as I know Zwift has not acknowledged that this is a problem, has not said if it’s working as intended, or if they plan to work on it.
I’ve just reduced my height to the minimum - zwift’s physics takes the **** if you are 6’2" so I’m now 90cm. If I’m forced to be in the wind I may as well minimise how much if me there is!
Whatever - I rarely look at zwiftpower and only for my own stats. It’s not about winning races it’s about being able to enjoy them and it’s impossible (for me) to enjoy competitive group events whether races or Fondos where getting in a small group means riding into the wind because at 56 I’m not likely to be able to stay in that group in those circumstances.
Keep spying on me because I might go on a diet too who knows.
Tom, don’t do that.
That data suggests you did go on a diet and lost 11 lbs rather quickly and forgot to reset your wt till some months later when you did 2 rides on the same day.
The fact that you corrected your wt shows you want to be honest but you are getting very frustrated, or maybe you did lose and gain 10 lbs over several months but still, correct data was important to you that day.
I think you are directing your frustration in a negative direction that is not speaking well for you.
The folks with steering are not cheating but when altering your vital stats, you are.
What i noticed is that both steering and non-steering riders have same unvisible bubble around the avatar that you can’t ride into them like with PD4 and steering.
Riders are returning to the middle of the road if they are without a draft for around 10-12 seconds.
It would be interesting to see how the non-steering rider following behavior compares to a steering rider under PD5. Is it the same? In this video it looks slower than how steering riders follow without PD5.
That would be excellent, no matter how much power you try to put down you aren’t allowed to pass unless there is a free space on the road for you to use. About time.
Next thing we need once everyone gets brakes and steering is collisions. That will make racing a lot more interesting.
It’s frequently said by people “it’s a game” so I guess people are taking notice of that.
Hence you see even a club leader reducing their weight from 87-89kg range to low 60kg and doing 49 minute ADZ then gloating about it on Strava. All the IRL riding hills in a week won’t drop your weight that much.
