Stages Cadence Reading

Where is that “Forget all ANT+ devices”?

@ Craig - it doesn’t work. I confirm others’ experiences - no cadence reading from Stages during rides, no visible sensor in Pair devices although the cadence data is right there in the ride .fit file.

Usually just logging in without rotating your crank to wake will mean you’re left with a status off activating your devices.

Try to search for cadance and then rotate crank. I’ve had this happen a few times and it’s never a big deal? Maybe it’s not actually a Zwift issue?

Craig, I’ve been doing this exactly this way, to no avail. Well, the cadence data is read by anything else but Zwift (Edge520, Trainerroad), even Zwift records this, but you can see it after the ride is completed, which is way less useful. Beats my why Zwift can’t see Stages at pairing process…

After many unsuccessful tries, I found a way to get my stages to show up as cadence sensor that worked for me, this is what I did:

  • Logged in normally in my computer and searched for cadence sensor, rotated the crank a few times to wake up stages PM, I left my computer searching…
  • Logged in using the new release mobile app and connected stages PM as cadence sensor, you should see it through straight away as a Bluetooth connection
  • I then started my ride in the mobile app and after a few pedal strokes, voila!!! stages PM popped up as cadence sensor in my computer…

After selected once, every time that I login in my computer is there automatically!!!

Hope this works for you guys!!!

FYI - connecting to Stages Cadence readings ***requires pushing the pedals applying force*** (see link to Stages support info below)

I had the issue of getting the Stages to be recognized by Zwift as a PM but not for Cadence after putting the bike into the trainer and moving the pedals by hand (to wake it up)

HOWEVER, once i sat on the bike, clipped in and applied force to the pedal movement, Stages also got recognized for Cadence.

Is this an ongoing problem or am I doing something wrong? My Stages power meter displays power but not cadence. I have to get cadence from my smart trainer which only displays about 60% of my cadence.

Tom Incaking’s answer worked for me. Rotate crank, find PM. Actually pedal crank with feet, then search for cadence. Apparently cadence doesn’t wake up until force is applied.
