When doing the coast Crusher route today on the way back when Finishing the Woodland Sprint my Avatar went into slow motion for the rest of the route it completely ruined my ride.
Does anyone know why this happened.
Please post up the specs of the device that you’re running Zwift on. It sounds like your frame rate went very low, making it jerky as well as slow-looking, is that right?
I’m going to say put the log file of that ride through Zwiftalizer.com and see what pops out, assuming you’re running Zwift on a PC or Mac.
Running on a phone / tablet - my first candidates are a power save mode or network congestion, though the second of those shouldn’t be persistent for the rest of your ride.
Apple TV? My only suggestion is to use something else if you’re having issues with it, as the only plus to that device is convenient & trouble free.
I’m running Zwift on my Apple TV.
I can remember doing this same route months ago and the same thing happened.
I’ve never had this happen before on any of the Zwift routes I’ve ridden in the last 12 months
Yes the frame went jerky and everything seemed to be in slow motion, it completely ruined the ride
Do you force-close Zwift after every ride? Because if you don’t, weird stuff can happen.
If you already do that, then I’d suggest deleting the Zwift app and reinstalling it.
Or even better, reset (not restart) the ATV through the menus to put it back to factory settings and reinstall Zwift.
Hi @Michael_Bennett4! Welcome to the forums! I’m Francisco from Zwift Support.
Having your avatar suddenly slow down mid-ride sounds like such a bummer—it’s the last thing you want when you’re trying to enjoy the route.
Something else to add. I looked at your log server files and noticed that you’ve recently run Zwift in-game version 1.85.0. Can you try to update to the latest version of the game 1.86.0 to see how it behaves?
So far, your AppleTVOS seems to be updated: 18.3.1 based on Apple releases. However, try the steps that Steve mentioned previously. Try another route to see if the behavior occurs only in specific routes. Keep us posted.
Hi Francisco thanks for your reply.
I remember doing this route before many months ago and the same thing happened, when I crossed the finish line at the end of the Woodland Sprint , that’s when the Avatar suddenly went into slow motion.
I’ve never had this happen on any other route I’ve ridden on Zwift, just this one The Coast Crusher when I finish the Woodland Sprint.
Hi Steve, not sure what you mean when you ask if I force close Zwift after finishing. Can you explain thanks
You absolutely must do this after each Zwift session or you’ll at some stage run into weird problems.
When I was an AppleTV user, I force quit Zwift after every ride.
It’s a simple thing to do, and Zwift starts very quickly on AppleTV, so it was not a big deal at all.
