Route / Climbs of the week

Please add Route and Climb of the week to the Zwift Companion App.

This would make planning the week’s activities a little easier.

A schedule of the up coming routes and climbs would be convenient too.

Thanks, always something new to learn about Zwift, though, in this case, it is a 3rd party site.

Yes - absolutely!!!

Here’s the official list sneak preview for July 2026: Croix de Fer, Col de Sarenne, Galibier (Valoire), and the Telegraphe. That’s 70 km of climbing if you take on all four.

2 hours of staring at the climb portal graphics is not something I look forward to.

If it had the scenery of the real one, it might be okay. But it doesn’t. And since I’ve ridden all of the real ones (Galibier, Croix de Fer, Sarenne, Telegraphe) the portal graphics aren’t enticing. Croix de Fer at the top is beautiful, Col du Galibier from Valloire also has stunning views.

But we two are the exceptions, others seem to prefer portal style graphics.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll do it, just to satisfy my OCD of riding all the Climb Portal rides.
I just won’t be looking forward to it.

I agree a real climb would be better. We only have one offered and it is a small climb being added to the Paris course. I hope at some point, Zwift will offer an opportunity for Zwift riders to ride these climbs on a Rouvy bonus tour.

For a long time now, I have requested a portal climb added to our virtual world, such as the far side of the Alp. However, only a handful of Zwift employees have ever ridden it and almost without exception, they ran a bot and did not pedal with any human effort. It was designed to show the incredible cruelness that could be generated on a climb, aka The Ski Lift. It is absolutely brutal and only masochists would finish it. I did it once at double elevation (due to a programming error the 100% is actually twice the normal setting of 50% climb) and it has teeth, sprinting to get over each peak, then coasting a few seconds before the next peak bites.

Ski Lift Portal Climb at 75%

Click on the Strava link above to view the climb. Brutal! Beware of what you ask for, lol.

100% this.

And somewhere we can see which ones we’ve completed and at what difficulty.

Nice. Zwift just made a few changes. The new Portals will be available in June for two days each, Starting June 6.

And they’re monsters…

Available on demand too.

That’s good they are on demand.
I was not going to be able to do a couple of them due to other ride events on the weekends this month.

And now you can do them… up up up you go.

Yeah, I’m signed up for L’Etape - when I originally committed to doing L’Etape I didn’t think they would go over 5k m of elevation for such a large group event, but here we are. All of these climbs are no joke, ha

IRL L’Etape?

That’s usually pretty brutal:

Of those ones, Sarenne is the one that isn’t nice, just the road surface is pretty bad and depending on which direction you are going, it can have a pretty technical descent which is also quite rough. Croix de Fer has some really steep bits part way up it but once you are through them it flattens out and is not too hard.

Col du Telegraphe is easier in comparison. Galibier is high (over 2600m+) and very narrow at the top but Croix de Fer is harder. Alpe d’Huez is as expected. When I did those last it was absolutely stinking hot at 40ºC - it was difficult. Even Huez village was scorching at 6pm in the evening.

Have fun.

Getting offtopic here, I’m pretty sure Col de Sarenne will have been freshly paved this year, because it will be climbed from Mizoen at the TDF.

I was beginning to think it was some sort of heritage thing, that it had to remain bumpy, lots of loose gravel, huge potholes. I saw the results of one poor guy coming unstuck on that descent, very badly hurt. :frowning:

I hope Zwift companion will add climb of the week on there. It seems very logical to have it next to route of the week/route chasers!
