I’m not sure why, but I know riders that were back a bit at the finish placed well in front of me in the Zwift Power standings. Is there something I could do differently? Zwift showed I placed 20th out of about 45. Zwift Power shows 19th. I felt like I was in the top 10. But riders in the top ten were well behind me. I’m certain of that. Fly-By confirmed it as well.
It’s not really important, but seems discouraging.
I believe the ride you did was a group ride not a race. On ZwiftPower you will see that everyone is listed as 1 hour for time. ZwiftPower results for group rides are generally in a random order.
The Club set the group ride up to show live positions and also post a ‘result’ on your ZCA Ride activity report. This ‘result’ is ordered by distance covered during the I hour group ride.
Yep, it was an organized Group ride with local friends and a bunch of others. The ride organizer called a race with about 10 minutes to go to the finish line. (There WAS a finish line; as soon as I crossed it, my kit changed back to my normal kit and the race was over) That was pretty cool. I knew I’d placed top 10, maybe top 8. So it was a surprise to see the standings pop up on the Zwift screen for me in 20th place out of about 45. Then, I went to Zwift Power to see my standing and it was 19th. Not much consolation. But then again, it is just a game; however one that I really put my 76 year old body to the limit to make a respectable showing.
Maybe the riders that I knew finished behind me and watched them finish after I crossed the line had delayed their start to be at the back of the pack, giving them a better time on the course. I’ll try that next time. I’ve been an real life racer since the 80’s and enjoy seeing my placing.
