Ride came broken/bent

Hello, all!

Just received my Zwift Ride yesterday.

I opened the package today to proceed with the install. When I got to the part where I place the chain on the pulley, I realized the chain wouldn’t hold – the chain kept snappong off of the pulley as I was spinning the pedal with my hand. This is when I realized that the pulley was bent. See pics.

I contacted support via the online chat box system…hoping an actual human would respond or call back to resolve this issue…!

EDIT: I believe the word I meant to use was “chain ring” - the bent piece.


Spoke with Francisco via email from Zwift Support - he was QUICKLY able to set up a return & replacement for the Zwift Ride. Happy! Will update once the replacement comes.

Replacement bike came today.

EXACT same issue. Chainring is bent (the black metal that holds the silver chain). The chainring hits the other metal parts of the bike as i spin the pedal.

Contacted support again.

Do you get tracking on these shipments? I’m just curious where point of origin for shipping is on these?

Yessir, i received tracking on my initial bike, and replacement bike. They come from Nevada, I believe. Still awaiting any kind of response from Zwift Support.

Update:

Exchanged emails with Elsa, a Zwift Member Experience Agent (just a couple of minutes ago).

Zwift agreed to send a 2nd replacement bike (so, 3rd bike). A refund for the original shipping cost was also promised.

I’m just awaiting packaging materials and shipping labels to be sent to me for the 2 unusable bikes I currently have in my possession.

Edit: Zwift also agreed to have someone come to pick up the bikes i packaged up, from my house.

I will update again once this 3rd bike comes. I will have my wife record a video prior to me even touching the packaged up bike (so as to prove no shady business is going on on my end). Will video the entire unboxing experience.

Chalk another one up - not really sure why Zwift is sending these things out with barely any protection inside the box. Our local FedEx is notorious for pretending they are in the WWE with packages.

Oh jeeze, yeah I’m pretty much in the same boat. I’m scared to even open the box, I know it’s been slammed just by the looks of it. I’m glad we all can bond over damaged packaging/products :rofl: I wish it were on Zwift instead!

Final update -

Zwift Ride replacement came yesterday – now I have three! :slight_smile:

Chain ring and everhthing else is good. Al l smooth.

Now, time to wait for the repackaging materials to deliver so I can repackage the 2 unusable bikes for pickup by Zwift!

Going to add one more to this….received my 2nd bike today and the packaging was beat up more than the last :rofl:

Maybe 3 is the magic number?!

HAH!! Like when I got a Kickr Bike replacement with a forklift wound. Speared right through the box! (Didn’t hit anything, but wow, close) Another one was upside down in the truck, and they left it upside down in my garage. Yeah, the bike was junk, was swapped in less than a week. They seem to enjoy trashing cycling toys…
